23.01.2022 Today is Jim Gordon’s Birthday (pen name Jim Grahame) famous Leeton poet and treasured friend of Henry Lawson and Dame Mary Gilmore. Head over to the Historic Hydro Motor Inn Leeton NSW tonight to celebrate, the Writer’s Collective are having an open mic night, poetry slam style. 23.01.2022 Fantastic news from the NSW budget, Museums, Galleries , Cinemas are all eligible expenses for the new eat + entertainment $100 vouchers, one for every resident over 18 years of age ( actually, it’s 4 x $25 vouchers)..... there s a pretty AMAZING exhibition coming to Leeton around July 2021....... we think you should save one of your vouchers for then ( Did somebody say #missfischersmurdermysteries ??)

12.01.2022 Yesterday Leeton Shire and Leeton Museum and Gallery hosted an afternoon tea as a thank you to all of our volunteers who contribute their time and local knowledge, making our museum the fabulous tourist destination that it is. Mayor Paul Maytom addressed the group, noting in his thank you speech that Leeton Museum and Gallery has had more than 1400 visitors to date and 26 volunteers, which he’s very proud of. Cr Maytom looks forward to the completion of Leeton’s cultural precinct, with Leeton Museum and Gallery being the icing on the cake. Thank you to all our friendly volunteers for your valued hard work. Pop in and say hello to the team!

To celebrate this year’s NAIDOC theme, the Australian Museum has worked with First Nations Peoples to translate 'Always Was, Always Will Be' into their respective languages. ‘Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land’ asserts Indigenous sovereignty and reminds others that Aboriginal people have been here since time immemorial.
