21.01.2022 Final rounds of the Left Handed National Championship was played out today at both the Barossa Valley Golf Club and the Tanunda Pines Golf Club. It must be said that both courses are in pristine condition. So a thanks must go to the ground staff at both courses. Thanks must also go to Hayley Hunt and the team of volunteers at the Barossa Valley Golf Club for all there work and to Chris and Phil and the team at Tanunda Pines for there work also. 20.01.2022 Results from the 2019 State Titles Yesterday the SA Lefties had our state titles at the picturesque Kooyonga Golf Club. It first must be said that the golf course was in pristine condition like it always is, with the greens running true but very quick. With the strong winds swirling it made for a tough day. After the round most of the players headed down to the Lockleys Hotel for a feed and the presentations. The days prize winners were.... State Champion David Ryles Gross Runner up David King Nett Champion Jenny Watson Nett runner up Val Callaghan Vets Champion Peter Crawford George Hicks Trophy Winner Roy Seccafien George Hicks Runner up Tony Gepp And the year long Participation Award which is calculated by performances at events and kilometres travelled to the events was one by Phil Othams. 17.01.2022 Greeting Lefties, Sorry for a lack of posts lately. Below is an update of some upcoming events over the next few months. The next event on the calendar is a weekend event, at the Bordertown and Naracoorte Golf Clubs.... Day One will consist of a round at Naracoorte on Saturday, 30th of March. There will also be a dinner in Naracoorte that night (Venue TBC). Day Two will be a game at Bordertown Golf Club, Sunday 31st March. Things are close in all grades and the top 8 in each grade (gross score standings) will be seeded with each other in tomorrow’s draw. This should make for a good battle to the end. 14.01.2022 Leftys State Championship Results Yesterday the South Australian Left Handed Golf Club State Championship was Held at the Picturesque Kooyonga Golf Club. A big thank you must go out to Lefty Member Chris Watson who organised the opportunity for the Championship to be held at Kooyonga. Thanks also to Kooyonga for hosting us on the pristine golf course and providing a delicious meal after the round. The weather was as perfect as the condition of the course. 25 and sunshine. Dav...id Ryles won the Championship with a Gross score of 77. Tony Watkin won the net with a score of 74. Tony Gepp won the Vetrans trophy. David King was the gross runner up. Neville Williss was net runner up and Barry Byfield was the veterans runner up. Ntp on the 3rd was won by Tony Gepp and on the 14th it was David Ryles. The winner of the George Hicks Memorial Trophy. Which is a season long event, based on your 4 best rounds was won by Tony Gepp. Tony Gepp also took out the inaugural race to the National Championship Trophy. This is a point system where you earn points based on your finishing position in each even and kilometres traveled to events over the year. Tony will receive his National Championship entry fee back as his prize. Overall it was a great day and hopefully a good warm up for every one, ready for the National Championship at the end of the month in the Barossa Valley. See everyone at the Nationals in 3 weeks. Our next event after the Nationals is the Sandy Hamilton at South Lakes on the 9th of December.
