23.01.2022 Little badge, huge impact on Australian society. This week is a week for us to show that we’re going to honour a commitment no matter the circumstances, no... matter the difficulties to say thank you to those who served, their families and to say thank you to those who look after them. The Governor-General has officially launched Legacy Week 2020. Legacy Week will look different this year because of COVID-19 you may not see people at the local shops collecting donations - but its purpose and importance is not diminished and community support is essential. Legacy supports Australian families suffering after the injury or death of a spouse or parent, during or after their service. They currently care for 52,000 people across Australia, including almost 2,000 children and disabled dependents. They help us all fulfil a commitment and pledge we make to those who serve our nation. Go to legacy.com.au to find out how you can support the families of veterans this week. Legacy Australia Australian War Memorial

06.01.2022 For what was supposed to be a quiet Anzac Day it was very eventful. Firstly to the Cenotaph for two people to recite the Ode and lay the Queanbeyan Legacy wreath then home to our wonderful neighbourhood Driveway Service. Back to the Cenotaph for a very quick service and lay some more wreaths and put crosses in the Memorial Legacy garden then on to cemetery to place flowers on family graves and place rosemary on graves in the Service Section. Following that Ken and I had a picnic lunch by our beautiful river

02.01.2022 Due to the difficulties of COVID 19 Queanbeyan Legacy Widows have been isolating themselves and therefore a little lonely. At Legacy we have,of course, not been organising bus trips and luncheons so therefore decided to send flower arrangements to all of our Wards/Beneficiaries and these are photos of some of the recipients. Deliveries have been taking place over the past two weeks and should be completed by Friday this week. Our gratitude is extended to Rosemary Hague and staff at City Florist Queanbeyan for their very pleasant and efficient service. We have had numerous phone calls and messages from very surprised and happy ladies. A couple have sent the message that the flowers could not have come at a better time. We sincerely hope that the flowers have achieved what we had intended
