25.01.2022 People who think depression is a choice, take a second to think. How would it feel to wake up and not having the emotional strength to face people? To think that time is just passing by with no real reason? To feel so alone even when you are sitting in a room full of people? To have to put on a face and hide your feelings because in your mind you think no one would care anyway? To lose friends because you can’t find the strength to go out and you can’t physically be ‘happy’? To cry yourself to sleep, hoping you wouldn’t wake up then when you do you are exhausted from the night before, and it all starts again? You try to hide your feelings hoping no one would notice. Now tell me why someone would choose that? Depression is an illness, not a choice.

22.01.2022 Amidst Mental Health Awareness Week this poem puts into words what others suffering from anxiety cannot

18.01.2022 We all know drinking isn't good for us, for many reasons, but we also know that it makes us feel good. That's why it's important we know why there's such a contradiction, what causes it and why it can create such havoc in our lives, especially for those with mental health issues. This article explains it simply and is a quick read. I recommend anyone who wakes up with next morning regret to have a read. You might be surprised, as I was.

16.01.2022 End this awful stigma. Don’t be ashamed.

12.01.2022 We can't always be happy, happy, happy, sometimes life throws us curve balls that create negative emotions. It's what you do with them and how you respond to them that determines the impact on your mental health.

12.01.2022 When we’re struggling, it’s easy to feel like we’re the only ones experiencing our kind of pain. It’s easy to feel disconnected and lonely and invisible. And wh...en we’re in the depths of our darkness, it’s so hard to find the strength to reach out. But I promise that no matter what you’re going through, you are not alone in your struggle and you don’t have to face it alone. There are so many other people out there in the world feeling your same pain and fighting your same fight. When you find yourself feeling lost and alone, remind yourself of these fellow warriors and summon strength from your shared experience. Know that you are seen and heard and understood. Know that your feelings and struggles are validated by the hundreds and thousands of others out in the world walking your same journey. And know that no matter who you are, where you’re from, what you’re struggling with, or where you’re going, you are not alone. Daniell Koepke See more

12.01.2022 Please sign, our kids deserve so much better

10.01.2022 When I lost my son to suicide, I swore I'd do what I could to help change the stigma that surrounds mental health. We need to show these young men, the most vulnerable to suicidal ideation, how much help and support there is. But looking at the stat's for this page, I noticed the demographic that I'm trying to reach are the lowest number of followers. Now I know it's not all about the numbers and I appreciate each and every one of those people who are listening to the messag...e I'm trying to send out, but we need to spread these words further. Dylan had so many mates and so many acquaintances, that the numbers just don't add up. So I'm asking all of his friends to add my page to their like list, because what you see, other people see. I won't flood your feed or drive you crazy with quotes and other annoyances, but I will post the occasional heartfelt reminder because it's what we need to do. You might not need someone to talk to, but someone you know just might. Much love to you all See more

09.01.2022 Be kind to yourself

08.01.2022 I realize now, I only ever afforded this sentiment to my family, mainly my kids. I had my blinkers on to the rest of the world, and myself, my kids were my only priority. It takes a tragedy to realize how much we all need support and caring sometimes and how healing it can be to step out of your comfort zone and share it around. To realise how many people can use your help and love, for me, is astounding. Silly me, had my blinkers on in a big way. Among many others, a BIG lesson learned. Thanks D. Its a big price you paid to teach your mum a thing or two, but it would be way worse if I didn't learn them.

04.01.2022 Some basic tasks can seem insurmountable when in the grip of depression

04.01.2022 You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You're here to risk everything.

02.01.2022 Don't suffer in silence. The 'Man Up' campaign is encouraging men to speak about their feelings and says it's OK to cry.
