16.01.2022 Attention: First Home Buyers Brisbane City Council is planning for Brisbanes future while making it easier to buy your first home, by providing a one-year 50 per cent rates discount for first home buyers. Were making housing more affordable so more residents will have the opportunity to own their own home. The Lord Mayors 2019-20 Budget included a First Home Buyer remission scheme, offering a 50 per cent reduction on Council rates for first home buyers in their first 1...2 months of home ownership. The First Home Buyer remission scheme will commence from 1 October and will be available on homes with a value of less than $750,000. (Current as at 17 June 2019)

It does this by providing a guarantee that will allow eligible first home buyers on low and middle incomes to purchase a home with a deposit of as little as 5 per cent.... 13.01.2022 HomeBuilder grant The Australian Governments HomeBuilder grant will give you $25,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home. All Australian states and territories are working together to finalise how the grant will be administered.... The Office of State Revenue is working to make HomeBuilder available for Queenslanders as soon as possible. It is expected that an online application form will be available in early August. 13.01.2022 First home buyers - Queensland (Stamp Duty Concession/Exemption) First home concession You can claim a first home concession for transfer duty when acquiring your first residence if you meet certain requirements. The first home concession only applies to a home valued under $550,000 and can save you up to $15,925.... Eligibility To be eligible for a first home concession when you buy or acquire a home, you must: have never claimed the first home vacant land concession have never held an interest in a residence anywhere in Australia or overseas be at least 18 years of age (we explain below when we may waive this requirement) move into it with your personal belongings and live there on a daily basis within 1 year of settlement not dispose (sell, transfer, lease or otherwise grant exclusive possession) of all or part of the property before you move in be paying market value if the residence is valued between $500,001 and $549,999. To keep the benefit of the first home concession in full after you move in, you must not dispose of all or part of the property within 1 year. A partial concession may apply if you dispose within 1 year. (Current as at 17 June 2019)
