15.01.2022 Legends Academy Perth by Daniel The Rock Dawson, but who is @danieltherockdawson If you type his name into Google, you’ll see he is a 8x World Champion - the only man in the world to hold world titles in Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Boxing But there is so much more to this man than championship belts Daniel had a challenging and troubled childhood; he dealt with physical and emotional abuse from family members, constantly moving schools, he bounced to and from foster ho...mes all whilst dealing with abandonment issues from both his parents leaving him. At the age of 15, Daniel found the thing that was going to change his life; Muay Thai. At the age of 15 and after only 1 year of training, Daniel had already taken home 3 State Titles. It was in his blood now. By age 19, he was a WORLD CHAMPION in Muay Thai, the youngest Australian to ever achieve this. From 1999 to 2003 it was a whirlwind for Daniel; Over 30 fights, 7 world title wins, and 2 Oceania super 8 tournament wins in Muay Thai and K1 Kickboxing. The Boxing journey was next. It was tumultuous, consisting of many trips to and from America, shattered dreams and broken hearts but the World Title came in 2015 after endless hours of hard work, blood, sweat and tears. Daniel is now a family man with a beautiful wife and two perfect little girls who truly fulfill his life The fight life isn’t for everyone, and Daniel will tell you it’s certainly not for the faint hearted. Fear not, up the water intake on days you plan to drink. This will help you bounce back faster and avoid the hangover food binge 3 Choices: Chances are you will have a few days of overeating but do your best to fill your plate with lots of veggies first then everything else around that. Take 10 minutes before going for seconds to let the satisfied signal kick in and chances are your seconds will be a smaller portion 4 DON’T STRESS: Christmas is a time for friends and family not so much for counting calories and beating yourself up. Signs of Overtraining: 1 Consistent excessive soreness lasting more than a few days 2 Increased irritability or bad moods 3 Becoming prone to injury or sickness 4 Feeling tired all the time (usually resulting in craving sugary snacks ) How to Minimise Overtraining: 1 Set small goals and realistic timelines. Legends are so proud of our juniors Jacob Callaghan and Tilly Stephens. ... Two of our Kids Academy instructors, and role models represented the Academy so well. It's a humbling experience to be a part of when the whole Muay Thai community works together to develop the future of Muay Thai in WA.
