I remember being fascinated by the story of Monet as his series of work progressed through the rapid decline in his eyesight. As a teenager I marvelled when upon disc...overy placing a pair of newly and beautifully crafted prescription frames on my eyes for the first time and boldly proclaiming Those trees have leaves!!! . The mastery of optics and the optimism it inspires is a gift. This series Sky and See explores the colours and light play through half closed eyes and encourages the viewer to squint and describe what they see and discover through the artist’s astigmatic lens.
