Some funds operate on a 1 January refresh, others take the anniversary of the date you joined the fund as the years starting date. As they are all different, it might pay you to check. 06.01.2022 How long should a bra last? If you only have one bra, it will probably last six months to a year. By rotating your bras they will last longer, and if you can, its best to keep a bra wardrobe of at least 3 bras; every-day, sports, lacy. That way, you can give each one a rest between wears and they will last longer. Wearing the same bra every day doesnt give it time to recover. The band and straps will eventually stretch and loosen, and your sweat, body oils and deodorant will begin to break down even the best material. Hand washing in cool water and drying in the shade will prolong your bra's life. But if you use a washing machine, make sure you use a mesh bag and the delicate cycle, and dont ever put it in the dryer.

If you have had a mastectomy & no recon...struction, you may consider wearing a breast prosthesis to restore your breast shape under clothes & restore the weight of your breast (so you dont feel lopsided). Breast prostheses cost between $150 and $400. They usually need to be replaced every 2 years. Medicare provides a rebate for prostheses - up to a maximum of $400 for each prosthesis every 2 years through the External Breast Prostheses Reimbursement Program (http://bit.ly/breastprostheses). Some private health insurance funds also provide a rebate for post-mastectomy prostheses, bras & swimming costumes - check with your fund. Some women claim the cost of their prosthesis through Medicare & the cost of post-mastectomy bras &/or swimming costumes through private health insurance. It is recommended that you see a specialist fitter who can help you choose the right prosthesis.
