13.01.2022 Swim school update Swimming lessons are back soon at Aqualife with a new friend, Splashosaurus, our new mascot! During the shutdown period, we kept our swim school students busy with a mascot design competition, and 8-year-old Lucy created the winning design and his motto, Come splash with me! 13.01.2022 AQUA CENTRE UPDATE: the steam room will reopen on Monday 3 August. Due to the current restrictions a maximum of four people will be permitted at a time. Due to this, we encourage people to keep their use to 15-20 minutes at a time so that others can enjoy the steam room as well. The steam room will close at 7.30pm Monday to Friday, and 4.30pm on weekends for cleaning. 13.01.2022 With the final touches made, our 50 metre pool is almost ready to open! This evening we got to show it off to our local swimming, water polo and triathlon clubs, and gave them a demo of our new submersible pool wall. 03.01.2022 50m Outdoor Pool Update: The Town is excited about the completion of the scheduled works for the outdoor pool at the Aqualife Centre. A reopening date is yet to be confirmed as we await hand over from the contractor and water testing approval from the Department of Health to be carried out... Watch this space!!

01.01.2022 Get to know the swim school team! This week we asked Sian, one our longest serving swim teachers, here are her five favourite things: 1. What is your favourite thing about being a swimming teacher? I love the magic of buoyancy, the sensation of flow and being creative with the kids. ... 2. What is your favourite swimming stroke? I taught myself to swim butterfly at age 27 and now it's my favourite stroke. its a series of dives down the pool, with a tail flick, and a good abs workout! 3. What sport did you play as a child? I played netball (GD) during my high school years- we played hard and won 3 premierships. 4. Do you have any other interest? My friends paid for a professional album recording of my music... that was some years ago now... and it's a bit alternative... but I still play and sing with friends. 5. What is your favourite movie and quote? I love the Lion King Movie, know all the song lyrics and love the part where Rafiki points into the magic pool of water and says, "Look harder... he lives in YOU", as I believe we each have amazing potential inside us!
