16.01.2022 On Monday I encouraged you to set a commitment objective, let’s make today Feedback Friday. Feedback is the breakfast of champions and I encourage you to sit back and allow it to integrate before you react. I was taught early on that whilst becoming a leader, I should aim to always reside in the I’m OK, you’re OK mindset. I found this task almost impossible when receiving feedback. As someone who has been criticised for being a ‘people pleaser’ I am quick to heal or fix sit...uations that are uncomfortable, believing that I am not OK if someone is hurting or upset by my actions. It took a team of strong coaches to feedback to me that what other people think is none of my business! Just this morning, I was teaching that I prefer to be ‘free of the good opinion of others’. I think this sounds more graceful. Being free is essential to understand that life is full of competitive tension. It is essential to work on my highest priorities and work on the most effective actions to take. Feedback that people do not like me, or my methods hurts me. However, I have learnt over 20 years that it is often a mirror and that in these times where I feel others do not respect or like me to show respect by asking a better question. Often as feedback is given, the giver is focused on their opinion and limited perception. To deepen perspective be curious and ask them is it OK if I ask you a question? Start with a great question like why did you feel you needed to tell me what you told me? What do you think my intention is? Who are you most afraid of in this situation and what do you feel when you are around them? How can I help you best? By asking questions in sequence you can honestly learn to stay respectful of the other person’s objectives and gain clearer understanding in order to serve them. I believe being a trusted advisor and advocate for leadership requires an ability to actively listen without judgement this is a skill to be practiced daily. As I ask for feedback, I specifically ask for 3 things to start doing, 3 things to stop doing and 3 things to continue doing to limit feedback to constructive outcomes. It is always my choice to learn and grow. If you need business coaching support, please message me or contact me on 0412 651 206.

16.01.2022 When asked to indicate the top 3 reasons for using a coaching the future, providing guidance to help others realize their potential topped the list at 58% according to HR.com (HR Research Institute). This week I helped a client receive valuable feedback about an incentive program that was demotivating a team member, talked another client through a mediation with an ex-spouse, tailor a package for a previous client to regroup after COVID-19 effects and talk to a team of mech...anics who wanted to achieve better results without aggression. Each situation was handled differently, however the thinking is always the same. How can I be the next best version of myself and show people ways to move toward their next best version of themselves. By slowing down and looking at expectations and discipline you will discover new ways of leadership and a coach helps you to fast track the process. We simply do not know what we do not know I have use coaches and mentors in my entire life starting with team sports as a competitive child, guidance counsellors as a student and my first mentor at age 21. To ‘start with the end in mind’ was his lesson to me and to grow the skill to ‘think for myself’ was our daily aspiration. If you don’t know it all, it’s tricky to think about critical issues without a bigger perspective. I believe this is the benefit of working with Business Owners, after 18 years of serving leaders to realize their potential, I have developed a matrix to guide and step aside so that the leaders can explore their thoughts and collaborate on ways to bring to the world unique solutions and problem solving. The central theme is TRUST, in today’s busy world developing trust with your teams requires scheduling and priority. Each leader will gain unique benefits from coaching as life skills overflow from the workplace into broader relationships and tackles issues that block leaders from realizing their potential.

14.01.2022 Happy Anniversary to our founder Kate and husband Kent. Married for 21 years. CONGRATULATIONS from all of us at Leisure Seekers.

12.01.2022 Who is coaching your COACH? About half (51%) of organisations surveyed fail to provide formal training for coaches according to HR.com (HR Research Institute). Another interesting discovery from HR.com (HR Research Institute) leads me to challenge you to ask your coaches how much personal development and structured coaching they commit to each week. As a global trainer for 5 years, I was amazed how many coaches grew defensive when I asked who their coach was. Being accounta...ble is critical when leading others so like the Plumber with the leaky tap, to be a coach without a coach might be the reason results start to get off track. One of the most fascinating coaching sessions I received was listing all my clients and their irritations and recognising an opportunity for me to upskill in these areas and lead from the front. This is a great technique to use when working out what formal training you might want to suggest to your in house coach.

11.01.2022 What are your limits? Are there aspects of business you are discovering that are more challenging than you thought? Do you resent the change you must endure to grow? If you think of life as an act in a play what outcome do you want your audiences to experience? This is a key concept we explore in our Sales Simplified course. A commitment objective is essential to maximise your limit and allow the process to unfold. This week I encourage you to cast your eyes ahead 10 weeks.... Did you realise that with Easter, ANZAC Day and Labour Day all looming that a commitment will be crucial to drive results and keep focused on end of year results. By setting a commitment objective, you set in motion a set of behaviours that are best broken down daily. As a Sales Trainer and manager of teams for many years, I realized that with 7 calls per day my team would guarantee to break even however with 11 calls we created a result in the top 10% of global sales. How long does 5 extra calls take? On average I found less than 6 minutes as many customers I connected with I left messages with, connecting via LinkedIn personally or on messenger takes 1 2 minutes each. Yet my limit was achieved with a commitment of 11 per day. By setting this limit I discovered how to grow my company and build a trusted advisory role within my community. I encourage you to discover your actual limit to achieving your objective by learning how to test and measure your results. Numbers are key to achieving results. In the play of life, I encourage you to set your scene well in advance. What will you be remembered for and what legacy could you achieve? Stay motivated to make a difference and stand out from your peers by committing to growth in 2020. To help learn and achieve your growth in 2020, join us at Sales Simplified from 9am 4pm on Tuesday 10 March at Flight Centre HQ in Brisbane. For more information or to book your seat view our website here: https://leisureseekers.com.au/sales-simplified/ Book now, only 10 seats available.

04.01.2022 71% of organisations say the pandemic is leading to more remote coaching and mentoring in their organisations - HR.com (HR Research Institute). The greatest development I have discovered is how effective remote coaching has been for my clients in the last 12 weeks. No matter if it’s Zoom, Google Hangouts or Microsoft Teams, I believe that it’s most effective to get together to handle issues immediately. Gone are the 1 hour commutes and the need to book a meeting room. With ...clarity of purpose you can deliver direct to your teams and create powerful chat room discussions that can lead to healthy and effective implementation immediately. Never before have I experienced the openness to accepting remote workers and measured increased productivity as a result. The key is to trust your team to deliver specific projects, use a tool like Asana to measure and keep track of milestones and schedule regular training and coaching opportunities.

02.01.2022 This month I have been curious to hear about my successful clients observing their embarrassment. At a time on the planet where suffering is occurring for those of us that have been positively effected I asked you to step up and share your joy and happiness. Think about it- what do you do when you're embarrassed? Yesterday my dad was taken by ambulance to the hospital for the 5th time for a severe pain that keeps reoccurring but they are unsure where it is coming from. T...Continue reading

01.01.2022 This week I had a valued client share with me a brilliant analogy. She was hired to be a Netball Coach, she has played netball for many years and is excellent, yet when she started her new role she observed that everyone was basket weaving interested she asked Leadership and they told her that basket weaving brings the team together. Yes, she replied however there are better ways to play netball than weaving baskets this brought huge pushback from the team as they were ...happy basket weaving. I love this analogy because now is the time to ask why am I doing what I am doing exactly? For what purpose? Might there be a more effective way to achieve the results we need in a more productive way?
