24.01.2022 Saturday 7 September marks Threatened Species Day. The day was first declared on 7 September 1996, 60 years after the death of the last Tasmanian Tiger. As a Governor of the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife (FNPW), I am seeking your help to support conservation projects that will protect the unique wildlife in Australia. https://foundation-for-national-parks--wildlife.giveeasy.or Did you know that Australia has the highest rate of mammal extinctions in the world? T...oday, there are no less than 517 native animals on the Australian Government’s list of threatened species. Funds raised will go towards urgent conservation projects to protect threatened Lyrebirds, Quolls, Turtles, Squirrel Gliders and Rock-Wallabys. In previous Leisure Solutions has been proud to have sponsored, through the FNPW, two wildlife conservation projects featuring two species featured in the following video clip - Eastern Quolls (Tasmania) and the Koala (Otway Ranges, Victoria). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0eiwi8BiEQ&feature=youtu.be Most of Australia’s animals are found nowhere else on the planet they are our unique responsibility. I do hope you will help FNPW to continue the fight against further extinctions by supporting this important appeal. Thank you in anticipation of your valued support.

18.01.2022 In pursuit of its inclusion as a Geoscience advocacy opportunity, the Australian Geoscience Council has recently appointed Angus M Robinson, Managing Partner of Leisure Solutions and a business member of Ecotourism Australia, to coordinate the process of developing a draft National Geotourism Strategy under the umbrella of the AGC Advocacy Sub-committee. Angus intends to co-opt various relevant expertise to help formulate this draft strategy, and will consult with relevant s...takeholders such as Geoscience Australia and State/Territory Geological Surveys, their representatives, and other key stakeholders in nature-based tourism throughout Australia. The Australian Geoscience Council (AGC) is the Peak Council of geoscientists in Australia. It represents eight major Australian geoscientific societies (including the Geological Society of Australia) with a total membership of over 8000 individuals comprising industry, government and academic professionals in the fields of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, mineral and petroleum exploration, environmental geoscience, hydrogeology and geological hazards. To accommodate the orderly development of major geotourism projects and activities in line with overseas trends and domestic regional development imperatives, the Australian Geoscience Council sees the development of a national geotourism strategy, to be developed as a staged, incremental approach, as being essential to gain government endorsement at all levels. The concept of an approved national strategy for geotourism emulates what was achieved for ecotourism back in 1994. For the past seven years, Angus has led the development of geotourism in Australia both in a leadership role for the Geological Society of Australia (a role that he has now relinquished to focus on a National Geotourism Strategy), and as the Founding Chair of the Geotourism Forum of Ecotourism Australia.
