25.01.2022 It goes without saying, the current border restrictions have severely impacted our business. It is a huge blow with 6 weeks left of what should still be our busy season. In the 55 years of operating, Leisure Ville has never been hit so hard. Our commitment is to remain OPEN. We are blessed with a lot of space, our Cabins are all individual units with plenty of space surrounding. Our cleaning standards are high with extra cleaning and indoor restrictions of all common areas.... We would love to welcome anyone looking for a getaway but sorry we are unable to accommodate anyone in enforced self isolation. For the sake of our own young families and other guests we hope you can understand this. We have had to make some changes with our swimming pool and will no longer be able to take bookings from the public. In-house guests will now need to book a specified time for swimming at reception, one family at a time with half hour and 1 hour time slots available. The pool hours are 8.30am - 8pm, and will be closed daily between 1 - 1.30pm for extra testing and cleaning purposes. Bruces cafe are still open for breakfast and lunch, with limited indoor dining but lots of outdoor seating, as well as takeaways. Our reception is currently open 8am - 8pm every day. For any questions, cancellations and changes please call us on (03) 6442 2291 or email us at [email protected] We hope you remain happy and healthy and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

24.01.2022 This afternoons speakers at the 2019 National Conference are truly something special. Dr Craig Challen SC OAM took to the stage, sharing his brave story of the... Thai cave rescue in 2018. Those in the audience were lucky enough to hear extensive information and details from his firsthand account of the rescue and how everything transpired. Hearing his story first hand is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are very privileged to have him here today. Dometic #caravanconf

19.01.2022 While business has dramatically changed for us we are still OPEN. Information received yesterday is that interstate travellers now have until Wednesday night to leave the state with the Spirit of Tasmania adding extra sailings for Tuesday and Wednesday next week. You CAN still stay with us until that time. Going forward:... *ALL Tasmanian workers CAN still stay. *Interstate workers deemed as "essential workers" CAN still stay. If you fit this description call us on 0364422291 to make a booking. Unfortunately we do not have the provision to accept long term guests on Powered Sites. But call around, some parks are offering this. It is a difficult time for a lot of businesses but Leisure Ville is not closing. Our opening hours are now 8am - 6pm everyday. If for some reason we are not here we will have a contact number in reception or please email us at [email protected] Thanks for your support everyone it means a lot

18.01.2022 Leisure Ville first began in 1963 as Walker’s Caravan Park and since then three generations of our family have helped shape it to where it is now, four if you c...ount my own young family who are still in training. We're really excited for the future of the business and have many upgrades and redevelopments planned over the next few years. As part of this next phase we have decided to do some restructuring and downsize the property itself. As a result we will be selling part of the property that contains our 9 villa units and 2 additional blocks currently used for Powered Sites. For the many people who enjoy staying with us be assured we are definitely here to stay and we will still have our Cabin accommodation as well as our Ensuite Powered Sites available, and of course all our facilities including the pool and spa, games room and playground. With school holidays upon us we are filling up fast for summer so book now! East Wynyard has fast become a very popular area and we can't wait to see what happens around us!

17.01.2022 UPDATE: The State government has brought forward Stage 2 restrictions! We will now be in a position to reopen for all guests from Friday 12th June. Sorry but that means we will remain closed this long weekend. All other changes will remain as below. . . . With only 2 weeks today until the Tas government lets us open fully (Yay!) we wanted to let you know some changes for over the next few months.... Our opening hours will be slightly reduced from our (pre covid) normal hours, however we will do our best to accommodate guests wherever we can. Our booking system will open for all new bookings from the 12th June too. Please book direct from our website to save us extra commissions Swimming pool: Subject to testing, the pool will reopen for guests on Thursday 2nd July from 8.30am - 5.30pm. To comply with regulations the pool will need to be pre booked for a specific time in half hour or one hour time slots, one family at a time, max 6 people. We will need to clean between each booking so it is important to please be in and out within your booked time Powered Sites: As we have not yet developed a plan to fully comply with regulations our Powered sites are bookable for self contained vans only, our amenities block will remain closed at this stage. For those without their own facilities we still have our four private Ensuite powered sites available Our games room and playground will both be open. Maximum capacities of 10 people in each at a time. When using all common areas please remember social distancing and correct hand washing We cant wait to see you all again soon!

17.01.2022 Were on tv! The new #caravanningtasmania ad is now airing on Channel 7 throughout Tasmania. There is also another version that includes my niece and her friend in our swimming pool #leisurevillewynyard #stayatleisureville

15.01.2022 Instead of a full park and excited kids arriving for the Easter break, today weve had... silence. Its so unusually quiet. Hitting hard this weekend. On the upside I have gotten lots of spring cleaning done and today Ive had my little helper here cleaning windows #stayhome #savelives

15.01.2022 October 12th is the Wynyard Tulip Festival and our accommodation is almost booked out! If you are thinking of coming to this fabulous event and want to stay with us head to our website to book now. https://leisureville.com.au/booking-/rates-and-availability

14.01.2022 Swimming pool update: Due to ongoing issues with our pool heater our swimming pool complex remains CLOSED. Hoping (and crossing everything!) that it will be fixed this week. It will then take up to 2 weeks to heat up to temperature and for required testing to take place. No guarantees but all things being well its looking possible it will be open for the 2nd week of school holidays. Well keep you updated with a reopening date!

13.01.2022 With almost 800 attendees I was surprised to learn we are the sole Tassie park to be attending the #2019ciaaconference on the #goldcoast today, but feeling at home with our fellow Tasmanian @jopalmer_ as the gorgeous host. Looking forward to hearing from some amazing speakers over the next couple of days

11.01.2022 Regrettably the decision has been made to close our doors to the public effective immediately. We will still have a staff member available by phone or email bet...ween 10am-4pm daily - to assist visitors with information as required. We will have brochures, maps, emergency contacts and accommodation and information available at the front door. This decision will be reviewed in 2 weeks. See more

10.01.2022 Talking all things Tassie and the North West today in Melbourne! #2020MelbourneCaravanandCampingShow #leisurevillewynyard #stayatleisureville

10.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the Premiers latest announcement, all caravan parks in Tasmania must now close from this Sunday morning. Guests that are essential workers or those from interstate/overseas still waiting to return home are the only exceptions (some clarification still being sought on this). Future bookings are no longer permitted at this stage either. In regards to Easter I am sorry to say all bookings will be cancelled. If you have not yet contacted us then we will try ...to be in touch over the next few days. It is a heartbreaking outcome for a business I have personally put my everything in to for the last 10 years, but I fully support the government in taking these measures to protect us all. It was not sitting well with me to encourage people to stay while also believing we should all be self isolating to get this under control. We will still be here every day, though our reception hours will become limited over the next week or so. If you cannot get in contact with us by phone please send an email to [email protected] and we will reply as soon as possible. My list of maintenance and jobs to be done is loooong so when we are given the go ahead we will be back open better than ever! Leah x

10.01.2022 Exciting news!!! Our NEW PLAYGROUND is coming soon!! I am so looking forward to getting rid of this boggy wet mess and welcoming all new equipment with mess free RUBBER softfall surrounds. This means the playground will be out of action from next week while we start dismantling and ground work. Weather depending we should see the new playground installed by late August.

10.01.2022 Looking like a playground now. Huge progress in the last couple of days. Equipment framework up and already base softfall going down. These guys are such great workers, morning tea on us!

10.01.2022 OPEN for tourists!! Taking guests and new bookings from today onwards! Unfortunately our swimming pool is still closed due to a problem with the heater but fingers crossed it will be up and running by the school holidays ... Games room and playground are both re open! We ask you to use common sense and practice social distancing around other guests, follow all signage, remember correct hand washing and make use of our hand sanitisers. Please remember we are a short stay holiday park only for genuine tourists or corporate guests, no long term stays. And please, if you are feeling at all unwell you must call us and cancel or reschedule your booking for another date.

08.01.2022 Before the new playground there was the old playground. But before the old playground there was.... an Oceanarium!! My grandfather in all his enthusiasm had some big ideas, this was one. As a kid I remember breeding tadpoles in the tanks. Unfortunately this was once it was in disrepair and being knocked down.

07.01.2022 HUGE congrats to those that stayed with us this weekend and participated in the Gone Nuts event, especially those that did the whole 101km!

07.01.2022 While we wait for the installers to come back next week and finish off the playground were busy here building decks and gardens, and getting the fence ready. Almost there!

05.01.2022 How great is this. 55 years later. These guys stayed with us back in 1965. One of the first guests to ever stay in my grandfathers original cottages, made memorable they said as it had a map of Tasmania made entirely out of shells

05.01.2022 Opening this Sunday!!!!!! We still need a couple of days to finish off the gates, the concreting and the screening, but quietly confident well be done in the next two days Cant wait to see the kids enjoying this space and easing my mind that it was all worth while
