24.01.2022 Commercial kitchen installation. Finished this one up today, was a short but busy week. The plasterer is on site to do a little finishing and splash back is on order. Hopefully I’ll be back soon to grab a few snaps, it will really finish it off. Was a pretty tight space but I think we’ve maximised it’s use, some great little features and good use of space here.

22.01.2022 Reinforcing the underside of a deck, making way for a carport and driveway underneath. The centre posts needed to be removed so I’ve reinforced the bearers and doubled up the posts moving them out wider.

22.01.2022 Sometimes the jobs I do aren’t so pretty and don’t really warrant a photo. But here’s a quick vid of how to make light work of an old tiled bathroom floor. Did a complete strip of the bathroom today and secondary toilet in another room.

21.01.2022 I’ve been a bit quiet here of late but been super busy with most of my work now supplied as a subcontractor. I’ve just finished up on this site in the Hunter Valley doing lots of formwork and concreting amongst other things, stay tuned for pics and info on my new venture. 11.01.2022 The kids cubby house is almost done! Most of the materials including windows I’d been collecting from leftover jobs and the second hand cladding was also salvaged from a job. Just need to find a door, put some stairs in and a few more bits and bobs, architraves etc...

08.01.2022 Haven’t posted here for a while due to full-time work in Sydney but still available for occasional weekend work. (Almost) finished this one, a small amount of finishing to be done!

06.01.2022 I’ve been looking forward to wrapping this one up and sharing pics of it finished! I’m not sure the pics show how big it is, hard to even get it in one shot! 45 square metres of hardwood decking and freestanding in that it’s not attached to the house or retaining wall. A great improvement to make better use of the yard and pool area. I’ll post a few progress pics in comments

03.01.2022 Having owned a pole house for 12 years I’ve become pretty good at those hard to reach jobs. This one was tricky as I couldn’t get scaffolding in because of where the fence is placed. Ive got a little trick where I extend the joists for a quick platform but unfortunately the joists ran the other way so that didn’t work either. In the end I had to knock something temporary up to get it done. There was nothing easy about doing this by myself , almost 3 storeys high with the garage underneath. The scope of the job changed mid way through as well, the original plan was to replace rotten and broken boards but it had all pretty much had it so I did the lot. Sealed with 2 coats of paint, new barge boards and end capping.

03.01.2022 Today I had an adventure in the big smoke! A customer of mine I did some insurance work for back in the April 2015 storms asked me to come to his property in McMahons Pt and make up some privacy screens. They worked really well, we used Opal coloured Perspex which lets soft light through, and cedar slats to finish it off. The Perspex needs to be carefully pre drilled and cut to avoid splitting or cracking. We were both really happy with it!

01.01.2022 Putting the finishing touches to some possum and sugar glider nesting boxes I’m donating to Wildlife ARC Central Coast. They’ve put the call out to help some of the smaller creatures that have been affected by the fires, an amazing bunch of volunteers they are.
