02.01.2022 Update - Day 2 #Lely #RoboticMilking #A5

02.01.2022 Checking for the causes of high bacteria results. From time to time there may be a change to your milk bacteria results. If a series of results indicate a possible problem, then we at Lely Center Gippsland can as assist you. The earlier the problem is diagnosed the quicker it can be resolved which is better for milk quality. The issues can be caused by many factors but we at Lely Center Gippsland have produced a guide to help assist our farmers.... The main aspects which influence bacterial count: 1. Incorrect cooling of the milk -Is the milk stored and cooled correctly between 0-4C. -Make sure that the milk is not freezing and is being agitated in the milk tank. 2. Incorrect cleaning of the milk tank and/or robot. - Check the main washing processes of the milk tank, buffer vessel and robots; make sure there is enough chemical (acid and alkaline) and that it is set to the correct ratio. Check the water temperature during the wash on the milk tank, buffer vessel and the robots. (Robot will alarm if temperature is not reached. Do not ignore!). - The robot main cleaning needs to happen 3x per day and set at 8 hours between each wash. - Check there is not any wash water left over in the milk tank after a main clean. Investigate the valves and agitators for any buildup of milk residue and any blockages in the sprinkler balls in milk tank and buffer vessel. 3. Hygiene of the cow and milking equipment during milking. - Change the milk filters 3xday and inspect the dirty filter for any signs of possible problems. - Make sure the cows udders are singed and cows tails are clipped to avoid foreign debris building up on any hair which could then drop off during the milking process. - Regularly check and change the liners (10000 milkings) and brushes (30000 milkings) at the correct intervals. - Check the quality of the water supply and water storage tanks. - The maintenance of the robots is up to date. -Check the functionality of all the milking equipment and inspect the equipment for cleanliness. - Inspect the reports produced on T4C. If bacteria problems persist, they can be very costly. If further support or advice is needed then please feel free to call us at Lely Center Gippsland on 5622 0845.

01.01.2022 Mount Gambier Open Day This past week our friends at Lely Center Mount Gambier had an open day on one of their customers farms. This was the first Lely A5 milking robot system in Australia. The event was well attended and offered a great insight into the Lely world. 01.01.2022 Our technicians at Lely Center Gippsland this week have installed a 2 station Lely Calm calf feeder for a new customer in central Gippsland. As soon as it was installed the calves went straight into being feed easily and comfortably by the Lely Calm.
