25.01.2022 Fantastic evening watching "The Boss" at Hanging Rock from our hill block. Cooked up one of our briskets for the guests. Marinated overnight, then slow cooked for 18 hours @ 92 degrees C. Used peach wood chips and orange juice for moisture. A little bit leftover for for later.

22.01.2022 I know it's nothing to do with our farm, but Bron & I were taken out to see these wreath flowers near Pindar in Western Australia. Apparently this is the only place they grow and the weather conditions have be totally in their favour. So it's not an every year occurrence. I felt they they were an interesting part of our rural background and very attractive. It has been a fantastic season over here and all of the crops are looking spectacular.

21.01.2022 Hay season has finally finished. Raking and Baling the last of our paddocks. Now we have to cart it in!

21.01.2022 Easter lunch with the family. Matthew did a great job smoking and slow roasting the ribs for 9 hours. The meat just fell off the bone and all the fat had rendered away. Succulent beef ribs was the result and a very satisfied family.

20.01.2022 A nice note and sketch from our Sunnyside Cottage guests this morning. The blue wrens were very active in the garden.

20.01.2022 We have home grown cool climate, pesticide free garlic available delivered for $36.00 per kg with your order of Quality Beef and Lamb. Beef and Lamb orders close on the 3rd of January. The Bunnings card is only for the Christmas Greeting and size comparison! Have a great Christmas and enjoy the New Year celebrations.

19.01.2022 After the Easter smoked ribs we decided to have a go at a different recipe. Slow roasted for 6 hours at 95 degrees C, with a topping of parsley, oregano, roasted garlic, olive oil, white wine vinegar, chilli flakes and the zest of lemon. New Dutch cream spuds, home fermented sauerkraut, snow peas and beans. All grown on the farm and in the home veggie garden. The ribs came up a treat and we used the left over meat in sandwiches.

15.01.2022 7 month old spring calves enjoying the hay and a couple of 3 week olds checking out what mums been eating. Nothing delicate about their table manners.

13.01.2022 One of those fantastic sunsets taken from Lemah Park.

07.01.2022 Our normally sedate little creek! Lots of water making its way from the northern slopes of Mt Macedon to Deep Creek, the Maribynong River and then into the bay. Great freshen up after 3 years of almost stagnating.

04.01.2022 The view from my work place today. Raking hay in Darraweit Guim. Could think of worse places to be.

02.01.2022 A very informative little article in the latest MLA Feedback magazine about the good "old mystery bag". Well worth a read. Just to add, OUR all beef sausages are gluten free with natural skins and our butchers are very fussy, about the flavour and quality of our snags.

01.01.2022 On a damp bleak day the cows and calves look forward to a feed of nice dry hay and silage. Feeding them every second day helps to keep them contented.

01.01.2022 The last picking from our now 2 year old Super Alpha hops. Now dehydrated and in the freezer. Looking forward to using them in a brew very soon.
