23.01.2022 With most loans, your monthly payments go toward both your interest costs and your loan balance. Over time, you keep up with interest charges and gradually eliminate the debt owed. With an interest-only loan, you pay only the interest on the loan, not the amount of the loan itself (also known as your principal). This results in lower monthly payments for a fixed period. Eventually, you're required to pay off the full loan either as a lump sum or with higher monthly payments that include principal and interest. With an interest only loan you do not gain any equity in your purchase. We recommend discussing the pros and cons of an interest only loan with us.

While the Australian Banking Association has announced a futher 6 month repayment holiday for those experiencing hardship make sure you are aware of the consequences of this. 09.01.2022 Many of us are in a hurry, and want to see results, and want them yesterday. We worry that not seeing results immediately means that the attempt failed. For many, that leads to a series of quick attempts, none of which are tried for a sufficient period of time for anything significant, or even measurable, to have happened. I liken this issue with the filling of a bathtub. When you first put water in, it appears to make rapid progress. The water moves quickly across the bottom..., heading for the far side. You think that at that pace, the tub will be filled in just a few more minutes. So you stay there and wait. But then, something odd happens. The water is still flowing, but the progress is no longer visible. Nothing seems to be happening. The water is flowing in, but the tub doesnt seem to be filling up anymore. And you get frustrated. But the tub is still filling at the same rate as before. It just seems like it isnt going as fast anymore. Thats because of the slope at the bottom of the tub, and once thats covered, the slow, steady, work begins. And thats the point of the quote. If you were waiting for the tub to fill and the water wasnt running, thats standing still. So long as the water is running, progress is being made. The same goes for diets or any other long-term project. There will be times when things move slowly. Stick with it, and keep working. Look for opportunities to improve, but keep moving.
