19.01.2022 We only have 4 weeks remaining until the end of the Australian financial year. If you're looking to give back to help impoverished communities during the pandemic consider donating to Lengo. You are able to claim any donation over $2 on your tax return. With Government restrictions in place in Tanzania, football training, clinics and programmes have been suspended and schools closed. But despite the inactivity, as coronavirus begins to spread in Africa, your help is needed more than ever. https://lengofootballacademy.com/a-message-from-our-founde/
15.01.2022 We are currently raising funds to provide regular food packages to 200 families in Arusha, Tanzania to keep them going during this time of COVID-19. These packages will include rice, dried beans, fresh vegetables and fruit and this will be purchased from our own players’ mothers who run local market stores in Ngaramtoni village. Even a small amount will help a family out during this time: https://lengofootballacademy.com/donate/
15.01.2022 In the midst of hardship, here is an optimistic news story about our Founder, Emanuel Saakai. Featured on SBS The World Game Australia, this is his story from kicking a makeshift ball made of rags and socks on the streets of Tanzania to travelling the world, coaching at a high level and making a difference to the lives of many through the power of football. Many thanks to SBS The World Game for sharing Emanuel's story.
14.01.2022 We are on the news in East Africa! Huge thank you to Azam TV one of the leading Tanzanian and East African TV networks for using our own Head Coach Emanuel Saakai’s success story to encourage and inspire local coaches in the region. Emanuel’s message reached millions of people in several countries in this region. The reporter said that his key message was, "Tanzanian coaches are urged to always continue pursuing their professional development and ability to analyse the opposition teams and players." We are so proud of you Emanuel and keep reaching for the sky!

11.01.2022 As the Founder and CEO of an organisation that supports many people from disadvantaged and impoverished backgrounds, I am gravely concerned about the impact of COVID-19 on our community in Australia and Tanzania. Now more than ever, we need to come together as a united community to help and support one another. We have taken swift measures in both Australia and Tanzania to do our part in stopping the spread of COVID-19.... In Australia: We have suspended all football clinics. Our entire volunteer team works remotely and will continue to do so during this time. In Tanzania: For the first time in Lengo's history we have suspended daily football training for our 200 players. We have written to all parents and families providing them with essential information about COVID-19, including symptoms, the importance of hand hygiene and how to prevent the spread. We have recommended that all people who are over the age of 70 self-isolate and stay away from anyone who has cold/flu symptoms. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they occur. Thank you for being part of our community and continuing to support us. My thoughts are with you and your families and loved ones during this time. Emanuel Saakai

01.01.2022 In better times (only a few months ago), our Head Coach, Emanuel Saakai returned in January from Germany to attend the Prestigious UEFA ‘ B ‘ License course conducted by German Football Federation (DFB). This film was aired on the largest Tanzanian and Eastern African TV - Azam TV. It was aired in several countries in the region and watched by millions to educate and encourage local coaches of the importance of developing themselves as coaches. "It was an amazing experience,"... Emanuel said. "There were 31 coaches from 22 different countries gathered in Germany. The course was organised highly professionally and covered in minute detail all aspects of the game: technical, tactical, physical, psychological and football co-ordination." Emanuel said his greatest highlight of the three-week course was being welcomed by the world- famous Borussia Dortmund (BVB) club as a guest coach. I learnt so much, he said. It is a world-class football environment." Emanuel was the only coach who was at the course who is currently coaching in the Southern Hemisphere.
