ANSWER: "I'm a believer" which was written by Neil Diamond and originally recorded by the The Monkees in 1966. In 1979 Neil recorded the song himself for his "September Morn" album then in 2001 Smash Mouth covered the song for the soundtrack to the movie Shrek which featured the voice of Mike Myers as everyone's favourite ogre.
