15.01.2022 More sting has been added to the search for Asian honey bee in Townsville with announcement of a new eradication program targeting the bees and varroa mite. Var...roa mites can play havoc with our bee industry by disrupting honey production and pollination services and were recently found in a swarm of Asian honey bee at the Townsville Port. If you live in the Townsville area, you can help by checking your yard and workplaces and reporting any new or unusual bee activity to 13 25 23. Asian honey bee is pictured here on the left, with a European honey bee on the right.

12.01.2022 On this Anzac Day, we don’t just remember our brave service men and women. Let’s also honour the hundreds of thousands of horses, dogs, donkeys, mules and pigeo...ns that selflessly sacrificed their own lives in battles they’ll never be able to comprehend. For example, of the 136,000 horses sent off to World War One, only one ever made it home to Australia. These animals have given so much. Not just on the battlefield but also as comfort and support for our soldiers at their most difficult times. Lest We Forget.

03.01.2022 Corona Virus News We are open and trading as normal....for now at least:) Hopefully we will be considered an essential service, animals have got to eat right?... We have put in place social distancing measures so please keep 1.5m away from each other and us. We have also increased housekeeping around common areas. Please follow all other guidelines like staying away if sick etc. Dont forget you can order online (or phone) and have it delivered to your door. Our delivery service is in high demand at the moment, so we may be late but we will get there. We do have plans available to implement should government policy require it. Demand for chickens has been astronomical and our phones have been run off the hook trying to keep up. [Apparently chickens are going to see us through this pandemic ] We are expecting more baby chickens on Tuesday, however 50% are already pre sold. We are expecting more Point of Lays in 3-4 weeks, however priority will be given to customers who have pre paid. (We will not hold chickens that have not been paid for). Supply of all our other products is generally very good, and there is no need to be concerned about that yet. The government is understanding that supply of goods is essential. That being said many other industries are being affected at very short notice, so maybe dont wait until you have totally run out before coming in or getting a delivery. Our thoughts are with all those affected so far. If there is anything we can do to help, dont hesitate to ask. We will do everything within our power to get through this pandemic.
