23.01.2022 Do you think our school education is relevant to the modern world? Is it effective enough to raise confident, successful and happy young adults who are ready to adapt to changes of today’s world as well as to generate creative solutions? Today we understand that the general school knowledge is not enough when dealing with present challenges. Besides absorbing information, student needs to understand how to apply this information in real life, how to analyse information, apply... critical thinking and find new creative solutions. To make the process more effective, it needs to be applied in real life practical situations. Not every school can create similar learning environment for the students. I’ve been lucky to be introduced and now be a part of the MiniBoss International Business School. The School offers additional education by focusing on development of entrepreneurial skills. It teaches the students how to be leaders who can inspire others and make socially responsible changes. The school has developed its innovative and effective methods in the course of 20 years. My favorite part of the the MiniBoss Business School is Leonardo Art School, where I will be actively participating as a teacher. Leonardo Art School assists the kids to develop creativity by embracing their natural curiosity. It teaches to see extraordinary details in ordinary situations. As we all know, the students with the strong creative skills are able to generate new ways of thinking and be effective problem-solvers. I am confident that due to the skills gained in the MiniBoss Business School and Leonardo Art School, the students are guaranteed success and happiness in their lives.

21.01.2022 Before we can build the world we want to live in, we have to imagine it. Let your kids' imagination run wild. Let them see the opportunities that we don't have today. Let them imagine and open the doors into a magical world, where everyone is happy, healthy and treated fairly.... Let their imagination create the future that breathes kindness and love. "If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it." We practice with our students seeing the beauty in every today and imagining miracles of the future. Once they see it, nothing can stop them making it real.

21.01.2022 As children many of us stopped drawing because we thought our artworks are not perfect and not up to the standards. Just a reminder to let the children to embrace their mistakes and keep drawing and improving. Drawing without restrictions, judgement and grading will let their imagination and creativity flow.

18.01.2022 Last weekend Leonardo Art School Brisbane were painting music. It's not a typo, we did convert the sounds we heard into colours and shapes on paper. Did you know that 2-4% of population have synesthesia (when more than one sense is involved in receiving and interpreting information resulting in seeing music, smelling numbers, tasting words)?... But for the majority of us painting music is a great brain exercise, engaging multiple senses at once and letting our imagination soar. If you'd like to try it at home with kids, here is an activity sheet: https://www.artslive.com//u/2017/12/Painting_the_music.pdf These are some of the famous and successful people who experience(d) synesthesia: - Kanye West - Lorde - Vladimir Nabokov - Pharrell Williams - Mary J. Blige - Billy Joel - Tori Amos - Duke Ellington A famous Hungarian composer Franz Lisdt and painters Vincent van Gogh and Joan Mitchell are also speculated to have had synesthesia. 16.01.2022 People’s ability to think creatively is the foundation for technological and cultural progress, yet the neural architecture of the highly creative brain remains largely undefined. A study from PNAS in the US (https://www.pnas.org/content/115/5/1087.abstract) identified a brain network associated with the creative ability, and they say it's possible to predict how creative a person is, depending on the strength of connectivity within this part of the brain. We can slightly i...ncrease our creativity levels by, for example, choosing and regularly enjoying more creative hobbies (https://theconversation.com/new-study-reveals-why-some-peop), however a significant increase in creativity in adults is highly unlikely because our neuroplasticity (its structural type, i.e. brain's ability to change its physical structure as a result of learning) is very low. However, the brain of a 3-yo child is in its peak of creating new connections, when he/she has around 1000 trillion brain synapses. Later the connections are selectively pruned, and by the time adolescence is reached, only a half of the connections remains, the quantity most adults maintain.(https://www.aedc.gov.au//res/brain-development-in-children) What's the conclusion? Develop your child's creative ability from early age! The earlier, the better, but start before they become teens. Although as adults we can marginally improve our creative thinking, it's like becoming an athlete - a person has much better chances to become outstanding in sports if he/she starts exercising from young age. #leonardoartschool #leonardofranchise #leonardoaustralia #leonardobrisbane

15.01.2022 An interesting Japanese invention - nameless paints. It teaches children to perceive colours differently and understand that many are a result of a mix. By not assigning names to the colours we want to expand the definition of what a colour can be, and the various shades they can create by mixing them. While using written names may ultimately prove more useful in the long run, Nameless Paints are a fun way to explore how colour works. https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2015/09/nameless-paints/

10.01.2022 We react physiologically and psychologically to colours around us. While some colours can evoke feelings such as comfort and joy, others can make us anxious or melancholic. This is true especially for children. That’s why it is important to understand colours and relationship between them. One way to explore the exciting world of colours is learning the colour theory through fun practical activities. Moving from basic activities of mixing primary colours to advanced concepts ...such as understanding different tints and shades will make our students more aware of colour relationships and the world around us. 06.01.2022 Collage is an art technique, in which various pieces are arranged into a single image. Leonardo Art School Brisbane Students visited the Cut It exhibition and discussed the concept that each of us is a collage of various ideas we collect during our lives. If you had to represent your view of the world as a collage, what would it look like?... https://www.qagoma.qld.gov.au/whats-on/exhibitions/cut-it Leonardo ArtSchool Viktoria Chindatskaya Mariana Danielyan Jennifer Lin Catherine Ang Queensland Gallery of Modern Art

03.01.2022 What is creativity? We believe it's a natural ability of EACH of us, and a skill than can be enhanced and developed. It's not just about art or music. Creativity is about imagining what doesn't yet exist, about solving new problems in new ways. The good news is that similar to the way we learn theoretical knowledge and exercise our logical part of the brain, we can learn to be more creative. The bad news is that it doesn't happen overnight. Just like with physical training, ...when it takes years of regular practice to become really good at sports, it requires regular practice over a number of years to become truly creative. Look around you. EVERY THING around you was thought of and created by someone. It wasn't that long ago when a computer, a phone, a coffee machine and a fridge didn't exist. Considering the whole history of humanity, it's relatively recently when a mug, a chair and a desk were invented. Even putting a plant in a pot was a new creative idea not that long ago. AI can calculate, lift & move, manufacture and analyse things (and even paint by numbers) better and quicker than us. But no AI in the foreseeable future will invent a new type of service or product that serves a new need or solves a new problem. #CREATIVITY is still a human domain: It's the most required skill by employers. It's one of the critical skills business owners and company leaders need to adapt their businesses to the constantly changing environment. It's the skill that can help us (and especially your kids) succeed in any profession. So if you want your kids to be successful in their future careers, find regular activities that stimulate their imagination and creativity, just like you'd encourage them to play sport on a regular basis to become good at it. #LEONARDOARTSCHOOL #MINIBOSSBUSINESSSCHOOL
