20.01.2022 On behalf of the LDCA we would like to congratulate Geoff Wyatt for completing 300 games umpired on the weekend. A wonderful achievement. A fitting gesture from both Kilcunda Bass and MDU with a guard of honour after the game.

20.01.2022 Round 1 was done and dusted on the weekend. Isn’t it just great to have cricket back!! Some amazing performances on the weekend through each grade. An amazing achievement from Luke McGuirk from Wonthaggi Club who managed to get a hat-trick vs Korumburra in C1 on Sunday and to top it off finished the day with 5/15 off 5.1 Overs. ... Darcy Hume from Town also had a day out with a 5fa! Amila Ratnaike top scored with 88 in A1.

19.01.2022 The final of the Under 21 Country Cup that was to have been played last Sunday has been rescheduled to Monday 8th March (Labour Day). The venue will be as per original arrangement - Kingston Hawks in metro Melbourne. Gippsland vs Barwon.

18.01.2022 Round 6 Player performance's We have our 1st century in A1 this week with an incredible performance from Amila Ratnaike (Leongatha Town) with 109 from 89 balls which included 9 4's and 7 6's. Well done Amila. Andrew Donohue (Inverloch CC) also with an impressive 5fa.... Well done to all players on there performances in the last round.

18.01.2022 Another round has come and gone!! Some very impressive performances in the LDCA this week. Jack Ginnane (A1, Imperials CC) & Michael Patching (B1, Korumburra Cricket Club) both got a hat-trick in a very impressive achievement from both players. Well done to both Jack and Michael. Michael Patching continued his bowling performance to finish the day with 5 wickets. Jason Kennedy (A2) from Koonwarra Leongatha R.S.L Cricket Club and Heath Dobbie (C1) from Wonthaggi Club Cricket ...Club also had impressive performances with the ball both recording 5 wicket hauls!! With the Bat, Glen Alvie and District Cricket Club Captain Jamie Glen was able to put in a huge performance with a 102 runs from 88 balls, his innings included 9 fours and 1 six. Well done to Jamie on his century. Another good round of cricket

04.01.2022 Another Round has finished up. Teams have shaken off the rust and putting in some strong performances. We have our first century this year in B grade from James Rushton from Koonwarra with 106 not out. Some good performances in A grade with 3 players with 5 wicket hauls. James McKay from Inverloch (5/14), Trent McRae from Leongatha Town (5/21) & Luke Manders from OMK (5/23).

04.01.2022 Girls are being invited to the first stages of the Gippsland Pride U14 & U17 Regional teams’ development programme for season 2020-21. Players need to be under 14 or under 17 at the 1st Sept 2020. The first coaching/training sessions will be held on the 13th January from 10.30 to 12.30 (apologies for the short notice) at the Moe Indoor Centre at Ted Summerton Reserve Moe.... Cricket Victoria in conjunction with Gippsland Cricket League will use these sessions to not only provide some skill development but to potentially select two teams (East and West) for each age group to play a match at a later date. From these games an Under 17 team and an Under 14 team will be selected with the aim to represent Gippsland (Pride) against another/other region(s) at a date yet to determined but most likely in February. The Under 14 players from both east and west squads will form the basis of a squad that will be prepared to participate in the U15 Youth Premier League state championships in season 2021-2022 All coaching and support staff are accredited and have appropriate child safety checks in place. Some handy performances from Simon Kirton from Phillip Island with 5/42 in A1 Matt Parsons & Matt Cozzio also with a 5fa in C1 from the same match. Hayden Fincher with 5fa in C2 from Wonthaggi Club... With the bat there was a fair few good scores over the weekend with OMK’s Adam Busana (B1) scoring the most this week.
