14.01.2022 Media release: Vintage Enduro returns to Gippsland in October 2015 In just over a week vintage dirtbike enthusiasts will again have the chance to sample a challenging but fun vintage enduro (vinduro) loop in Gippsland, set out by enduro legend Norm Watts (father of enduro champion Shane Watts). The Stratford Vinduro on Sunday 4 October is the latest event in the Vintage Enduro Riders Inc (VERi) calendar. The VERi club runs non-competitive events, aimed at recreating the en...duro spirit of the 1970s and early 1980s. The events are open to motorbikes designated as 1984 models or earlier. The Stratford Vinduro features two separate courses. There’ll be a private property course, and a separate loop using nearby bush tracks. Riders using the private property loop do not need registered bikes, but will need to purchase an MA day licence if riding an unregistered bike. The terrain is varied with some challenges but doesn’t include anything too daunting perfectly suited to vintage enduro bikes. There’ll be scrub, single trail, open paddocks, grass track, some watercourses - lots of variety. We anticipate that it will take 25-35 minutes to complete a lap. Riders can do as many laps as they like. The private property track is also suitable for bringing along younger riders (12 years and over), on big wheeled or full-sized bikes (preferably period correct machines). Juniors will be required to enter and purchase a day license to ride, must have appropriate safety gear, and also be accompanied by an adult on the trail. Bikes being ridden in the nearby forest must be registered, and riders licenced. Club President Paul Kalika says, This is a vinduro event with something for everyone. The locals really know how to put together a fun course, and this will be even better than previous years. So get that old dirt bike out of the shed, and join us at Stratford! Stratford is just over 2.5 hours from Melbourne. Free camping is available at the property on Saturday night, but bring everything you'll need yourself (including food). 13.01.2022 Interclub day Sunday 4th October at Steve Riley's, Old Thorpdale Road, Mirboo North. $25 per rider capped at $50 for 3 or more family members. MV licences required or day licence can be purchased on the day. Lunch WILL NOT be included as it is an interclub day, however BBQ food and soft drinks are available for purchase throughout the day.
