11.01.2022 Welcome to the Leongatha Uniting Church Facebook page. It is definitely a difficult and strange time, but in all walks of life we are learning to be creative and innovative at this meme suggests.

07.01.2022 Thanks to Ruth Chilver for passing this on: Prayer For A Pandemic By Cameron Williams Bellm (used with permission)... May we who are merely inconvenienced remember those whose lives are at stake. May we who have no risk factors remember those most vulnerable. May we who have the luxury of working from home remember those who must choose between preserving their health or paying the rent. May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close remember those who have no options. May we who have to cancel our trips remember those who have no safe place to go. May we who are losing money in the tumult of the economic market remember those who have no money at all. May we who settle in for a quarantine at home remember those who have no home. As fear grips our country, let us choose love during this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, let us find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbour. Amen!

07.01.2022 Had two reasons to feel a connection to Songs of Praise on the ABC this morning. With it being from Birmingham, it brought back memories of being there at Edgba...ston when Australia won the first Ashes Test, and it featured the work in Birmingham of Australians Ash & Anji Barker. They are known especially in Churches of Christ circles through UNOH - Urban Neighbours of Hope. See more

06.01.2022 Over the last couple of months I have been employed to offer pastoral care and visitation to the residents of the Woorayl Lodge Nursing Home in Leongatha one mo...rning a week, to give them some more human contact during this time of limitations with family visits. Scooter came with me for the first hour which everyone enjoyed. Put on a short church service on Wednesday which included two ladies from the kitchen staff who sang a couple of Christian songs. 03.01.2022 Lay leader Tanya Walker says in this time of enforced isolation we can learn much from older people. "We think they are vulnerable, but they also have an immense amount of strength that we can also draw on at this time," she says.
