22.01.2022 Don't forget archery this weekend. Kit if you've got it and Coal Creek Sunday arvo.

20.01.2022 We here at LMS are happy to delve ever further into the depths of history and experimental archeology and are proud to present you with a variety of options should your bog roll have been hoarded by some other swine. In the middle we have a real (as in from the sea) sponge on a stick as allegedly used by the Romans (possibly not the re-enactors but the original ones). Finding this took much searching on socially isolated beaches as the local ones had been swept bare, presumab...ly by the historically astute. On the right we have a tuft of wool - used traditionally from our period through to more recent times. Still available it has a few drawbacks such as the potential to poke a finger through and the odd strand getting left behind. (The lanolin is, however; good as a moisturiser keeping your skin soft and supple). Obviously there's no Archery this weekend, or for the foreseeable future, as Coal Creek is closed. We looked at a variety of options to run but keep everyone safe but the tame Medical Scientist (S) and I (Cell Biology) couldn't come up with anything that was foolproof or even idiot resistatant. ALHF has announced that there's no insurance for COVID-19 transmission so that's the end of that (quite reasonably IMHO). If something changes (and I've read a couple of papers (professional, peer reviewed) on SARS and MERS - also corona viruses - that suggest that they are quite vulnerable to environmental conditions) we may be able to run up here - subject to ALHF - as I've always kept a supply of targets and kit at my place. The model one on the left? That's for hard to remove stains......
