21.01.2022 Celery - great ammunition to fight cancer and tumours!!!! It has been found that celery has a very rich source of the flavonoid - Apigenin which is effective against cancers in the pancreas, ovaries, liver, small intestines, stomach, lung and breasts. Another good reason to eat fresh foods.

19.01.2022 Make your own Kimchi or Sauerkraut! It's easy - simply finely shred some cabbage and carrot, add some pepper corns, garlic & paprika. Pack tightly into a sterilised glass preserving jar and poor some filtered water to cover vegetables. Seal the jar and leave on the bench to ferment for a minimum of 4 weeks (or until vegetables take on a pickled taste). This may take up to 6 weeks in the winter. Can be used as a lovely condiment served with almost anything! Try adding it to asian dishes, soups or salads. Kimchi & Sauerkraut are a natural form of probiotic and help to create a healthy environment within your gastrointestinal tract! Enjoy! :)

17.01.2022 Chocolate is good for you that is if it is raw chocolate. Try this easy recipe it contains some super foods such as Cacao and Coconut oil. It is high in antioxidants and mood enhancing, anti-viral and increases the metabolism! It takes about 5 minutes to make and it can be kept in the freezer or fridge. Adjust ingredients to suit your taste buds. Combine in a bowl 3 cups of Raw Cacao and 1 cup of chopped nuts of your choice. Add 1 cups of coconut oil (in a liqu...id state- if coconut oil is solid place jar in hot water until liquid) and 125ml of rice syrup or agave syrup (these are both healthy alternatives to sugar). Personally I prefer using agave syrup as I enjoy the taste of its sweetness. Mix together all ingredients until it reaches a pasty consistency. Line a slice tray with baking paper and then spoon in your mixture and spread out. Once mixture is evenly spread, cut into small squares and leave in the tray, this way you can break off pieces as required. Refrigerate or freeze until required. See more

06.01.2022 Bone Broth Soup This is a great soup for healing and recuperation following colds and flu's. The stock is full of minerals which the body can absorb easily. It's great for the Gut as it heals and seals the lining. It may also reduce joint and inflammation and inhibit infection along with promoting strong bones, healthy hair and nail growth. It's an old recipe, great for the soul and tasty. -All you need is some bones (I find chicken bones give the best flavour), make sur...e they are free range and grass fed as they will have more nutrients. -4 litres of filtered water -2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar -1 large brown onion -2 medium sized carrots -3 medium sized stalks of celery and their leafy tops -2 cups of diced seasonal vegetables of your choice -2 cups of cubed meat of your choice (chicken thighs works well) -3 tablespoons of chopped parsley or sage To make broth- Roughly chop all vegetables and then add to a large pot along with the bones, water and vinegar. Simmer for a minimum of 3 hours. When complete strain into another pot and this is your broth. Discard your bones and vegetables. To make soup- Put your new pot of broth back on the stove until it reaches a simmer. Now you can add your seasonal vegetables and your meat. Simmer for another 30-40 minutes or until everything is cooked. Season with sea salt and cracked pepper and garnish with chopped parsley or sage. Enjoy!
