13.01.2022 LION CUBS ON THE HUNT Ahead of our junior cricketers taking the field today, we check in with how they fared last Saturday... ... The under 17 Bellerine Renegades started their final match of the year against North Geelong. The boys bowled first and the finished the day off by taking 8-239. Pick of the bowlers were James Tilders (4/17), Noah Pigdon (1/30) and Ashby Ward (1/31). The boys will be looking forward to a big one with the bat on Saturday to cap the year off with a win. The under 15 Leopold Barmby side won the toss and bowled first against Thomson in their match. The boys kept Thomson to a reasonable 5-150 with the bowlers of the day being, Connor McCashen (3/38), Matthew Law (1/18) and Connor Montgomery (1/22). Hopefully the boys can do the job with the bat to claim the win. The under 13 Leopold Horne had a commanding win on the weekend against Corio. The boys were 1-159 with the bat, with the top performers on the day being Tom Kneeshaw (34), Henry Cox (17*) and Hunter Vukobratovic (17*). With the ball the boys kept Corio to 9-93 with the best bowlers being, Oliver Adair (2/5), Cruz Foster (2/11) and Kobe Harper (2/15). In the final game of the year Leopold Horne will take on Drysdale and will be looking to take the win to finish of a strong first half of the season. Both of our under 11 teams played on Friday night, Leopold Mason played Thomson and the Leopold Ridgeway side took on Geelong City White. Both teams had a blast playing the game and have one more game before Christmas. #FutureOfTheClub

09.01.2022 LION CUBS ON THE RISE AT THE CATS Callum Stow GCC 1st XI debut & Josh Mastin 3rd XI Captain (pictured here in first photo with fellow LCC star junior Mitch Reid during a game together in the 2nd XI) As a club we are always wrapped to see the continual development of our talented junior products within the elite premier cricket environment that is the Geelong Cricket Club. This is no more evident than today.... 18 year old Callum Stow, our exciting junior prodigy and son of club legend Marcus, will make his debut for the Geelong 1st XI today against Essendon. The talented left-arm wrist spinner and handy lower order batsman has earnt this opportunity on the back of some outstanding performances for both Geelong and through his underage representative cricket for Barwon and representing Victoria Country. He has impressed all those around him with his maturity, resilience and enthusiasm and regularly shines for Geelong with ball in hand, spinning webs and tormenting the batsman. This next step in Cal’s cricket journey has come about as a result of his tireless effort and commitment to his craft and as a club we couldn’t be happier for him or his outstanding Leopold family. Congratulations and all the best Stowy on behalf of the entire LCC, you deserve this opportunity and we can’t wait to see you get stuck in In addition, we are equally as proud of our man Josh Mastin who will today begin his role as Captain of the GCC 3rd XI. Another talented junior product who has thrived in the premier environment, Josh is a natural fit for skipper’s role given his outstanding commitment and knowledge of the game, along with his professionalism and ability to get the best out of himself and those around him. As a club, we are stoked to see both a cricketer and person of Josh’s quality recognised with this role and we are sure he will do a fantastic job. Josh has developed immensely with both bat and ball during his time at the GCC and we are pumped to see the role he plays in assisting the next group of young cricketers to do the same. Finally, it is also unreal to see our other talented LCC products, Lachie Neate and Jaxon Mallett, lining up for the Cats today. Lachie is making his 3rd XI debut whilst Jaxon is playing in the 4th XI, his first premier game. Enjoy it and go well boys Thanks as always to the Geelong Cricket Club for their continued support of our lads.

04.01.2022 TONIGHT // The annual LCC Family Christmas Party is on again tonight from 5pm, with loads of fun things to do and see. Come on down, bring the family and watch the 1st XI’s game against Newtown with a BBQ dinner, food and drink stalls, jumping castles, mini golf and other games, raffles and prizes, along with a visit from someone special around 7pm... See you there!

03.01.2022 FIRST XI DEBUT | CAP #315 As a club, we are stoked to announce that star junior product and current Geelong Cricket Club Premier cricketer Lachie Neate will make his 1st XI debut for us today against Lara. He returns to our squad on loan from the GCC and needless to say we are stoked to welcome a player and person of Lachie’s quality back into the fold. Whilst he didn’t feature in our top grade prior to heading down to Geelong, Neata always showed plenty of talent and... enthusiasm through his efforts in our junior program and later, our 3rd and 2nd XI senior sides. Always a Leopold person, he featured in our 20/20 side last summer and has been developing nicely alongside younger brother Tom in the elite environment that is the Geelong Cricket Club. Coming from a great Leopold family who are a big part of the LCC, seeing a young Lion cub progress through the ranks and debut in the 1st XI is not only a testament to our junior program but also the contribution of those around him. We also really appreciate the role of the GCC in further developing our young players and for loaning Neata out to us this weekend. On behalf of the entire LCC, congratulations to our newest debutant. We cannot wait to see you in action mate and know you will wear the baggy red cap with pride It is also extremely exciting to welcome back former 1st XI skipper and gun batsman David Kirk (1st XI cap #272), who joins our top side out at Lara on loan from his home club Williamstown Imperials. It’s unreal to have the experience and energy of Kirky, a big LCC supporter and great mate of many of our lads, back in the baggy red. Welcome back Kirky! 02.01.2022 How good do these new red pads from our friends at ulysses_cricket look?!?! Even if we don’t get to wear them this season, due to the proposed format changes, there’s no denying how happy our lads are with them! We can’t wait to see how good they look when we are back playing short-form cricket in our coloured kit. As always, the awesome local-Geelong business that is Ulysses Cricket have gone above and beyond for our lads. ... Support those who support us

02.01.2022 On behalf of all at the Leopold Cricket Club, we would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Tim Simmo Simmonds and family on the passing of their beloved dad, Ron. Many of our players, supporters and wider community would have known Ron or purchased cricket gear from him across his many years working at sports stores across Geelong, giving advice to eager young cricketers looking for their first cricket bat. Tim, a premiership player at The Den, has been a long-time Leopold cricketer and supporter and it is needless to say that we are thinking of him and his family during this sad time.

02.01.2022 WEEKEND WRAP //

01.01.2022 Thanks to our awesome sponsors at ALV Flooring, Aston Plumbing and Maintenance, Leopold Sporties, Leopold Community Bank Branch, Town & Country Pizza & Pasta and Lily George for bringing us this week’s sides. Don’t forget to support those who support us! Time to hunt 6 wins. Go Polders

01.01.2022 WEEKEND WRAP // Tough day at the office on Saturday for our top 4 grades against a strong St Joseph’s outfit, as they proved too good on the day despite some tight results and outstanding effort from a number of Lions. As they always do, our boys will no doubt bounce back and take a lot from this as we head into our Round 3 clashes with Lara this weekend. The 5th XI kicked off their season with an impressive win over St Albans, formed on the back of some outstanding all-round cricket, whilst the 6th XI fell short in their round one game against St Joeys. It was unreal to see these two sides take the field and we look forward to seeing the opportunities for young and old cricketers as a result of having 6 senior men’s sides
