24.01.2022 Congratulations to Emily Bitto author of The Strays who was awarded the 2015 Stella Prize for women’s writing! Chosen from a shortlist of six fiction and nonfiction books that included: Foreign Soil by Maxine Beneba Clarke, The Golden Age by Joan London, Heat and Light by Ellen van Neerven, The Eye of the Sheep by Sofie Laguna, and The Invisible History of the Human Race by Christine Kenneally. Emily Bitto was presented with $50,000 which buys a writer not only a degree of financial independence, but also time in which to pursue their passion. We wish her the best of luck for all her future endeavours, and would like to congratulate all of the shortlisted writers as well!
