21.01.2022 See you all there! Don’t forget AGM and social night next Saturday night!

20.01.2022 Please see information below regarding Friday Night's Club Night and AGM from Andy ------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all... As the school year and the year is coming to an end, it’s time to look back what has happened but also to look forward to the next year. With the whole shut downs and the forced pause of training from end of March, we had a great chance to look at training patterns and to improve technique. Looking at the the bigger picture, some high performance swimmers all around the world were able to produce very impressive times. Many coaches agree that it was extremely beneficial to have to slow down the training after the pools have opened up again. Due to the rest, times and distances were suddenly not important anymore, technique and a good aerobic base training was in the centre of focus. At my arrival with the Legends, we had to reset many items in training. As many programs, we have focused very hard on technique and base training. It gives me great joy to congratulate all of you on your improvement. It’s great to see you getting better almost on a weekly basis. **What happens next? ** We are starting the school holidays now or soon. In this time, it is important that you keep your training up, if you wanna make the next step, lets have a chat if you can add a session until end of January. Studies with athletes have shown that a break of only one week will take around 2.5 weeks to get back on the same level. A break of 2 weeks with no sports takes around 6 weeks. Imagine what happens if you don’t exercise for 6-8 weeks. It would be a shame if we had to start at scratch again. Please discuss with your coach what you can do, what we as program are doing. ****Club Night, Christmas Party, AGM **** This Friday, 11th December, we will have the final club night at the pool. I am very excited to say that we will have Sam Hall with us. Sam is the S&C coach for the swimmers at WAIS (e.g. Blair Evans, Brianna Throssel, ). He will arrive at around 4pm for a 4:15pm Start. Please bring your sports shoes and appropriate clothing for land training. Please also bring a big water bottle as it will be hot. We will have some shorter swims before starting the Christmas Party. For this, please bring a secret Santa present. It should be gender neutral, as we will play Evil Secret Santa, great fun for all!! We will be having a BBQ as well after the swimming. For the parents, please be around the pool as the AGM of the club will happen right after training, it might be while the kids have their secret Santa. As far as I understand, there are several positions still open on the committee. Please contact [email protected] As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Happy swimming all! Andy

19.01.2022 A reminder about this Friday Night’s Club Night and AGM. It is imperative as a Club that we have an AGM so it has been planned for Friday 11th of December. It is very important that vacancies be filled for the committee and nominations can be accepted prior to the AGM. The club can’t move forward without a new Treasurer, Secretary and Registrar. Please email [email protected] to nominate.

15.01.2022 Message from coach Andy. First of all, I would like to congratulate all the swimmers who participated in the Swimming WA Qualifying meet. We had 9 athletes competing in different events over the weekend. Lots of personal bests and one Junior State Qualifying time. Well done Zoe. But what was even better was the great support and team spirit shown throughout the weekend. Lots of smiles, lots of encouragement and lots of fun. I think, I speak for all who were there: If you were...Continue reading
