22.01.2022 Sad to bid our brief artist-in-residence farewell for now as he heads back to the UK to support his family during the COVID-19 chaos. Still in awe of @garethphillips_ dedication and progress in this work about his family that we will show at a later date when it is appropriate to welcome visitors into our gallery space. 22.01.2022 We are thrilled to announce over 120 participating artists and 33 new major commissions for the inaugural PHOTO 2020 International Festival of Photography! Run...ning from 23 April-10 May 2020, the Festival will present the most inspiring new photography from Australia and around the world and feature a diverse group of artists across over 40 cultural institutions, museums and galleries. 17.01.2022 Last week to check out @das_schulzes HEADS exhibit at @le_space_le_space gallery Presenting 30 unexpectedly intimate portrait photographs, this series observes an almost accidental notion of beauty in the endless flow of anonymous human traffic that churns through New York City.... Schulzes abstracted portraits at once draw us in and reject us. All the while eliciting the voyeuristic notion that we are peeking behind the curtain at a reality that is more real than the one intended for us. 11.01.2022 Proud to show the first book maquette for our previous Artist-In-Residence, @llcoolang. "Souvenirs of Sleep" was initially featured as an installation @le_space_le_space and now produced in the first draft of the resultant book by @yingang, designed by @nedim.r and printed by @momentopro. @llcoolang is currently en route to Arte Fiera, in Italy, to the opening of the PH Museum exhibition and book launch on mobile phone photography, where 2 of her images are featured. Using Collingwood as our playground, Clearing The Shadow presents the work of 12 young artists, who have spent the last two months using visual stories to connect us to topics that often disconnect us. Holding space for creative energy and critical thought, the artists also pose the question ... "What knowledge do we need to create critical, socially engaged visual stories?" Clearing The Shadow presents snippets of internal landscapes that challenge the boundary between the personal and the political through photography, poetry and moving image. Like Russians dolls it was ideas that led to more ideas which opened up to another idea - Yakub Ogunsina
