20.01.2022 Fire Restrictions are now in force across the GOLDEN PLAINS SHIRE as of TODAY Monday 14th December. NO burning off unless you have a written permit by the CFA District office (these are NOT issued by the brigade) There is Zero Tolerance to any illegal fires CFA are called too during the Fire Restriction period and police will be called. Hefty penalties and/or imprisonment apply. ... Do you know what you Can and Cant’t do during the Fire Restriction period and on a Total Fire Ban day? 15.01.2022 Your Fire Services are preparing for Summer, how about you? Emergency Management Victoria had two Erickson Skycranes, (Delilah and Elsie) arrive through Geelong Port today, joining the rest of the 2020-21 Victorian aerial firefighting fleet, totalling 51 Aircraft. The vessel arrived last night, ultimately from Greece, after a brief stop over in Perth to offload the first of her aircranes.... The other two of the four aircraft offloaded in Geelong will fly to NSW and SA for their new Summer home. A medium helitak, (McDermott Huey), was also off loaded at Corio Quay. If clearing and preparing your home for the upcoming fire danger period and you will be burning off, please take the time to register your burn on the 1800 hotline below. Did you know? There is signs out the front of the Fire Station that will be erected once the fire danger period is in and no burning off is permitted. ...
