24.01.2022 Match Reports A Grade Defeated Newcomb & District 9/274 to 184 An incredible display with the bat off the back of a mammoth opening partnership of 198 from club legend Brent Donaldson finishing with 102 and co-captain Shane Dillon with 87 setting up the Rosellas to finish with 274. Some cameos from Hayden Spiller and Jesse Butcher also assisted in the monster total. Some excellent bowling from the Rosellas ensured that a mammoth total was due to excellent batting and not due ...to a concrete pitch as we bowled the Dinos out for 184 after 44 overs. Off the back of Shane Dillon's off spin finishing with 4 wickets and Josh Ower and Paul Stewart claiming 2 each to ensure the 90 run victory. Top Peformers Batting Brent Donaldson 102 Shane Dillon 87 Hayden Spiller 24 Bowling Shane Dillon 4/23 Josh Ower 2/16 Paul Stewart 2/34 B Grade defeated by Teesdale 8/79 to 3/80 Taking on top of the table Teesdale was always going to be a tough game but the Rosellas had a red hot crack. Jesse Sorgiovanni starred with the bat batting majority of the day to finish with 35 ensuring they batted out the overs. Scott Roberts and Scott Maloney were the only other contributors with the bat with 16 and 10 respectively. With the ball Liam O'Connor continued his fine form with the ball as he claimed the 2 leading run scorers in the League but sadly it was not enough as the Roos got home with plenty of overs to spare. Top Performers Batting Jesse Sorgiovanni 35 Scott Roberts 16 Scott Maloney 10 Bowling Liam O'Connor 2/32 Scott Maloney 1/37 Kad Welsh 0/7 The club would like to thank everyone for the ongoing support we have received in the first half of the season from the sponsors, supporters and all volunteers. With all 4 sides either in finals or within 2 games of finals it is looking like shaping up to be a great second half of the season.

24.01.2022 Match Reports 1XI defeated Manifold Heights 137 to 3/138 The 1s continued their winning streak extending it to 5 in a row off the back off Jesse Butchers Hatrick as well as an all round team batting performance. Jesse Butcher starred with the ball finishing the day with 4 while Shane Dillon and Paul Stewart claimed 2 each to ensure the Sharks were bowled out for 137. Damien Harwood also claimed 4 catches, 1 stumping and 1 run out to finish a great day behind the stumps. With ...the bat Fleece and Shane Dillon continued their fine form both finishing with quick fire 36's while Josh Ower and Hayden Spiller steered the ship home to ensure another 6 points for the Nest. Top Performers Batting Brent Donaldson 36 Shane Dillon 36 Josh Ower 30* Bowling Jesse Butcher 4/26 (inc Hatrick) Shane Dillon 2/28 Paul Stewart 2/29 2XI defeated by Bannockburn 162 to 5/169 Batting first the Rosellas posted a good total with Jesse Sorgiovanni making a career high 65 with contributions from Ben Moore with 36 and Scott Maloney 24 allowed for the Rosellas to post 162 giving a good score to defend. Starting off hot with the ball Liam O'Connor continued his domination with the ball claiming 2 while Troy McDonald also claimed 2 but it wasn't enough as the Bulls got home with overs to spare and wickets in hand. Top Performers Batting Jesse Sorgiovanni 65 Ben Moore 36 Scott Maloney 24 Bowling Troy McDonald 2/21 Liam O'Connor 2/23 Brandon Jeffrey 1/22 Lethbridge Gold defeated Ballarat Gold 4/96 to 4/95 The Gold team travelled to Ballarat looking to bounce back after last weeks close defeat and put on a great performance against Ballarat. Trish Backer continued her fine form with the ball collecting 1 wicket while Sarah Smith picked up 2 herself. Some tight bowling from Clare Hellawell and Georgia Connors ensured that only 95 was required to chase. Lisa Dickers and Sarah Smith starred with bat scoring 26 and 25 respectively while Abi Grigsby made her highest score for the season with 17 to ensure a Rosella victory on the road. Top Performers Batting Lisa Dickers 26 Sarah Smith 25 Abi Grigsby 17 Bowling Sarah Smith 2/14 Trish Backer 1/27 Abi Grigsby 0/5 Lethbridge Green defeated by Ballarat Navy 5/69 to 51 The Green side sadly couldn't go back to back as a low scoring affair fell the way of Ballarat Navy as the undermanned Rosellas put in a great fight. Abbie Booth and Sarah Hickey both picked up wickets while Casey Harwood, Tara and Kirra Robinson, Amanda Watts and Steph Taylor all combined for run outs to ensure a low total of 69 was needed to chase. With the bat some strong bowling made it tough as Tara Robinson with 10 and Tara Woods with 11 were the only Rosellas to reach double figures as they fell short by 17 runs. The Under 13...’s took on Ocean Grove at Lethbridge on Saturday and what a game! A big win by the team with two players retiring and some great bowling and fielding at the end getting the team over the line by 31 runs. Well done boys! 19.01.2022 SCS Training Institute Rosella Players of the week: Men's We had a number of good performances on Saturday with the men starting with Co/Captain Shane Dillon hitting a nice 45 as opener and taking 3/18 off his 10. ... Loved up Liam O’Connor had a day to remember taking his first 5 wicket haul for the Rosellas to finish with 5/32 off his 8 overs. James Marto helped clean up the saints giving the Rosellas a great win taking 3/8 off 2.5 overs & 10n/o Twos Captain Ben Moore also hit a wonderful 56 to help set up the win BUT it was Blake Spiller who stole the show this weekend with his first of what we hope will be many more centuries for the Rosellas. 19.01.2022 Last cricket season Craig Dodson, a 42-year-old cricket tragic, set a world record by playing 11 games of cricket for 11 different clubs across Australia, while raising funds for mental health foundation Gotcha4Life. Craig travelled over 10,000 kms, pulling on the whites for a diverse mix of fantastic cricket clubs. He found himself trapped by a bushfire, travelling 1600 kilometres one day just for a Golden Duck and was given a hand by greats of the game like Greg Chappell a...nd Darren Lehmann along the way. It was an epic sporting and lifetime adventure. Craig went through a battle with depression a decade ago and, thankfully, came out the other side. He committed himself to using the tour to raise funds for mental health as well as helping people along the way by sharing his story. In the end Craig’s adventure raised $10,000. Craig has now turned his adventure into a book (with all proceeds going to charity). 17.01.2022 Rosella Players of the week Men's The player of the week this week had some cracking performances from players such as captain Hayden Spiller with 42 and 3 wickets and Scott Roberts with 50 runs in the seconds but this week it goes to Michelle Giles. Michelle Giles on short notice pulled double duty this weekend filling in for the twos to ensure we got a full side and did an excellent job in the field while also third top scoring on sunday.... Women's This week the player of the week goes to Steph Taylor. Steph Taylor made the Women's first 50 of the season finishing with 51* while also finishing with incredible figures with the ball. Bowling 2 overs Steph collected 1 wicket for 0 runs to cap off an excellent performance. Sarah Smith and Abbie Booth also put out great showings. Tweet Tweet

16.01.2022 Rosella Player of the week Men's A few options were available for the player of the week as Jesse Butcher and Liam O'Connor both dominated with the ball while Shane Dillon started to find form with incredible figures of 1/9 off 10 overs and second top scoring with 26. But it had to go to Josh Ower as he made an important 44 while also claiming 3 wickets of his own.... Women's This week was extremely hard to choose who got the player of the week. After conversations with both coaches we have decided to the award to both Chloe Jury and Casey Harwood. Casey Harwood did the team thing making 20 and setting up the innings while also taking a blinder of a catch, assisting in a run out and taking a wicket of her own while Chloe Jury in the other game second top scored and took 3 wickets herself on route to getting the Gold team the victory. Steph Taylor was stiff not to go back to back as she top scored with 24* with a ripper run out and catch to go with it. Enjoy your free meal and beverage Tweet Tweet

15.01.2022 Rosella Players of the Week Men's This week for the blokes was tough with many great performances. Jesse Sorg notched up 65 while Ben Moore had a captains knock of 36 down the order. In the 1s Fleece and Shane both continued their fine form with the bat while Shane also collected 2 with the ball, Paul Stewart showed why he is one of the greats bowling 10 on the trot collecting 2 but of course this week it goes to the man of the hour Jesse Butcher. Finishing with figures of 4/...26 which also included a hatrick marked a great day for one of our finest bowlers. Special mention to Damien Harwood who had a field day behind the stumps with 4 catches, a stumping and a run out. Women's Some great performances from the women including Lisa Dickers match high 26, Tara Woods top scoring for green with 11 and a catch, Sarah Hickey bowling 4 overs 1/10, Trish Backer 4 overs 1/27 but it has to go to Sarah Smith for her all round great effort in Golds win. Sarah finished with 2/14 from 4 overs while also notching 25 with the bat to ensure the Gold side got home and kept them right in the finals hunt. Great work Jesse and Sarah Tweet Tweet

10.01.2022 A group of committed players attended the first training session for the Lethbridge CC women’s team this morning. Many of the players are new to the game of cricket but approached the training with determination and enthusiasm. The improvement in their skills by the end of the first session was encouraging and they will be a competitive force once we get to the first game. There will be some stiff and sore women around the town tomorrow. Details for the next training session will be announced shortly and anyone interested in playing are more than welcome. This is a great opportunity to take up a new challenge in a fun and supporting environment.

10.01.2022 Juniors Weekend Report This week our under 11’s took on Teesdale at Lethbridge on Friday night.
