25.01.2022 We are now officially open again! When making a booking please list the names and a contact phone for everyone attending. The limit is 10 people in the arena and 20 on the property at the same time. Please wear facemasks in the car park, but they are not required while riding or for coaches. We look forward to seeing everyone soon. We have spoken with Russell Johnstone and he will be providing us with dates for his next clinic. We will announce the dates soon. We will also r...un a Freshman's day as soon as we have re-affiliated the club with EV and set the club insurance in place. The Freshman's day will require riders to book in advance so that we don't exceed permitted numbers. Again, there will be more announcements soon. It will be wonderful to have riders back at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre. We have missed everyone!

23.01.2022 We still have places left for this clinic with one of Australia's best known showjumpers.

18.01.2022 Our Russell Johnstone Showjumping clinic has just commenced with the first group of riders. It’s looking like being a great day!

18.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Our next Russell Johnstone showjumping clinic will be on Sunday 9th August. We hope to see everyone there!

14.01.2022 Under stage 3 restrictions for regional Victoria, indoor sports centres must close from 11:59pm Wednesday. We are still taking booking for this Wednesday but will be closed from Wednesday night until restrictions are eased. Stay safe everyone.

14.01.2022 Riders have been asking about future Freshman's days and competitions at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre, so I'd like to explain what we are doing. In short, there will be future Freshman's days and competitions (events), but not until July 2021 at the earliest. LEC is currently fully open as usual and insured for venue hire. However, to run events we need extra insurance. We run events as LEC Club, affiliated with Equestrian Victoria and insured through Equestrian Australia. Th...is costs us about $1400 in affiliation fees and extra insurance per year. Last July we did not re-affiliate due to the lockdown. Our last competition had to be cancelled due to restrictions. Further restrictions or another lockdown are a possibility. Consequently, we have decided not to re-affiliate with EV this financial year. EV are aware of this decision and are happy for us to re-affiliate next financial year. In the meantime, if any clubs wish to host events at LEC under their club insurance they are most welcome to enquire. See more

13.01.2022 As restrictions ease in regional Victoria we hope that we can reopen soon. However, for the time being we will have to remain closed. The latest easing of restrictions apply to outdoor sports only. Communication with Equestrian Victoria has advised "... soon as we know more about indoors we'll let the membership know - for the meantime the restrictions haven't changed - stay tuned".

12.01.2022 Further easing of restrictions were announced today, but our indoor equestrian arena is still closed. Equestrian Victoria will be meeting with government representatives tomorrow to get the details specific to our sport. As I understand it, we may be able to reopen on the 2nd November but only for riders aged 18 or under. The great majority of people who ride at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre are adults, not children, so that would be disappointing. Nevertheless, at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre we do stick to the rules, whatever they are. If anyone has further information that we are not aware of please let me know.

12.01.2022 The Russell Johnstone clinic tomorrow, Sunday 19th July, is now fully booked. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Could all riders please follow COVID protocols as detailed previous postings and EV guidelines. Try to arrive about 30 min before your lesson time and leave within 30 min of the end of your lesson. Have a great lesson everyone!

07.01.2022 Everyone will be aware of the new COVID-19 restrictions that will apply to the Golden Plains Shire from midnight tonight. "From 11:59pm tonight, and in the local government areas of Colac-Otway, Greater Geelong, Surf Coast, Moorabool, Golden Plains, and the Borough of Queenscliffe, you will no longer be able to visit people or have visitors at home." Also, "from Sunday 2 August at 11:59pm, a face covering will be mandatory whenever you leave home and wherever you live." Let...hbridge Equestrian Centre will of course fully comply with all rules, restrictions and protocols from government authorities and Equestrian Australia. Equestrian Australia have not made any comments about the latest restriction that I am aware off. My understanding of the new restrictions is that they apply specifically to visiting people's homes and do not apply to businesses. Restaurants, cafes, gyms and indoor sports centres can continue to operate with the same rules as prior to the latest restrictions. That means that Lethbridge Equestrian Centre remains open and our Russell Johnstone clinic 9th August can proceed as scheduled. I'm not sure about the mandatory face coverings. I assume that they are not required while you are on your horse, but will be required in the carpark and other areas? If anyone has further information please let me know?

05.01.2022 This suggests that we can now reopen! Brilliant. I’ll try to find out more tomorrow.

05.01.2022 We now have 4 spots available for the Russell Johnstone clinic due to cancellations. These spots are for a confident rider group at 10:00am, an advanced group at 11:30am and two spots for a low level or green horse group at 7:30pm. Please phone me on 0408572403 if you are interested in any of these spots. Riders who cancel will only be refunded if other riders can be found to fill their place.

03.01.2022 If you are considering attending the Russell Johnstone showjumping clinic this Sunday, 22nd November, please confirm your booking ASAP. I'd like to close the bookings and let riders know their times tomorrow (Thursday). At this stage we only have three full groups and I'd like to have a 4th group. This means that there is also time for private lessons ($160/hr) with Russell for people who prefer a private lesson. I hope to hear fro. more riders ASAP!

01.01.2022 Changes in COVID restrictions were announced today that may (or may not) permit us to reopen soon. From 11:59pm Tuesday 27 October indoor fitness centres can reopen for up to 20 people and indoor sport and recreation can recommence for people aged 18 years and under. What does that mean for an indoor equestrian centre? Are we sport, fitness or recreation? Obviously, we are all of those things? So can we reopen for all ages or just for people 18 years and under? I wish I knew.... Equestrian Victoria will meet with government representatives tomorrow for clarification, however, EV are a sporting body and will be considered as a sport. Most people who use our equestrian centre ride for many reasons with competitive sport often not being the main reason. Hopefully we will be able to get more information tomorrow. If anyone knows more please let us know. See more
