18.01.2022 Let It Slide Drift know that everyone has different ideas on how to make changes to their own car to enhance specific aspects of it. The purpose of us posting a rundown of certain techniques we have used to modify our drift cars is to keep everyone up to date with what we get up to between events. Thankfully all work carried out is done by qualified performance mechanic, John who has some great experience. All the modifications on our cars must be done to the highest standard... as the vehicle is constantly being pushed to its limits and therefore it needs to be as safe as possible for the driver whilst competing. Not all modifications and mechanical changes are road legal so please ensure that if you carry out any kind of modification to your road car, you find out whether or not it is legal as well as checking that your insurance company is aware of all changes. 18.01.2022 These 2 guys are absolutely amazing to watch & always put on a good show. Michael Rosenblatt in the R32 Nulon Skyline & Robert Whyte in the Achilles 350z. Would have to be 2 of the guys I really look up to in the fast growing motorsport that is drifting. Get along to Stanthorpe tomorrow to see them plus many other talented drifters in action.
18.01.2022 Ok so for everyone wondering how I got the lock so cheap. First step was rack spacers 1 bolt on spacer on the passenger side & 1 slip on spacer on the drivers side I bought a spacer kit for $30 from a local Performance shop but these kits can be purchased on ebay for $40 including Post and gktechs for $50 including post. Mine have been on the car for a while and have not broken yet so cheap quality is no issue. Second step 350z z33 inner tie rod ends, the reason for this is t...hey bolt straight on & are a bit longer then the z32 ones. I got mine for $50 from someone who had to replace a rack on their 350z but you should be able to pick some up fairly cheap or if you cant should still get good results with z32 ones. Step three I shaved the bump stops enough to get full rack travel but didnt cut them completely off as the rack would bottom out every time I hit lock which is quite regularly. I wouldn't recommend shaving the stops If you want to do it on a daily as the police might get cranky if they notice. Cost $0 if you have access to a grinder. Still have a few ideas that I want to try in the near future to see how much lock I can get without custom knuckles etc.
17.01.2022 Bit of slicktop work this morning. Painted the brakes red. Fitted the clutch and gearbox is ready to go in.
15.01.2022 Very interesting video. Just goes to show how good the vg30 engine is, I was surprised by the results. They seem a bit bias towards the rx7 though.
15.01.2022 Would just like to thank everyone for liking our page. I have been occupied with other things for a little while but is now time to get back into drifting and posting up a few things.
10.01.2022 With 2015 upon us. Its time for a new look and some new mods for the 2015 season. Will post a build list soon of the mods so far, and any future mods will be posted as we go.
09.01.2022 The Nissan 300zx is not known for its good turning circle or massive amounts of lock. I managed to get some pretty decent lock out of our silver T Top drift car with very basic mods which would of cost less then $100 I will be trying a few more ideas with our slicktop drift car to see how much Lock I can get out of it without using custom knuckles etc.
09.01.2022 Some pics I found of the slicktop when we first got it.
08.01.2022 300zx Knock/Detonation sensor bypass. How to delete knock sensor VG30DETT Z32 300ZX A question I see quite regularly is where is my knock/detonation sensor located & what do I do if I get a code 34 from my ecu.... The answer is quite easy you can buy a new knock sensor and relocate it for easy access in the future or the easiest and cheapest option is to bypass it. The reason for this is unless you have your motor out or want to pull it out the knock sensor is basically impossible to get at. As shown in the picture 1 below it is located under the plenum. First step locate your knock sensor plug as shown in Picture 2 it is located close to the firewall and roughly the centre of the engine bay the wiring will go down the back of the plenum & unplug the sensor. Second step You will need a 1M Ohm resistor as shown in picture 3. You can purchase a 20 pack off ebay for around $2 and will probably be able to get one from an Auto shop for under $5. You will need to bend the ends to the required shape & plug it into the ecu side of the plug not the side that goes back to the plug as shown in picture 4. Third step start up your car and you should no longer have an issue. I hear a lot of people ask is it reliable and does it work. YES I have done this on one of our drift cars that is pushed to its limits every time it is driven & never had an issue with it being bypassed.
07.01.2022 To all the people I see who think clutch kicking and drifting on a standard clutch will be fun. I wouldn't recommend it hahaha.
