22.01.2022 Get Noticed In The Letterbox!
22.01.2022 Have you heard??
22.01.2022 "PRINT MARKETING TRUMPS SOCIAL MEDIA" The enduring debate of print versus online marketing has been upended by a Melbourne marketing professor, who says social media is ‘over-rated’ and print is still widely trusted. Mark Ritson, professor of marketing at Melbourne Business School says marketers are rejecting traditional media ‘at their peril’, and points out 60 per cent of people still trust print advertisements. The statistics come from shopper behaviour researcher Nielsen,... which also reports only 46 per cent of consumers trust online and social media ads. Ritson argued in a series of lectures about the overrated social media marketing on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and discussed the increasingly underrated formats of TV and print. Print and TV advertising is said to be trusted most by the millennial generation, as the decreasing levels of interaction with traditional media enables the content to resonate more strongly." 18.01.2022 Dinner by Candlelight The moment something becomes cheap and easily accessible to the masses, its position in the economic equation inverts. For example: when night-time electricity was new and scarce, it was the poor that burnt candles. When electricity became easily accessible and cheap to the masses, our preference flipped and dinner by candlelight became a sign of luxury. Now apply this to your marketing techniques.... Remember the days of letterbox advertising being only for the larger businesses that could afford it? Those prestige businesses with a big brand? Over time costs came down and letterbox advertising became accessible to businesses large and small. Then along came social media marketing and digital marketing. This method of advertising is now easily accessible to the masses, and free if not very cheap. As a result, standing out amongst the noise has become harder than ever. Well, the tide has turned and now the letterbox has become dinner by candlelight. Letterbox advertising has a sense of trust and legitimacy that the online world is often lacking. While I agree that we need to market across multiple platforms, be sure that you are including print media in your marketing mix.
15.01.2022 7 Reasons Why Print Is Powerful! Print advertising is still a powerful and necessary component of a marketing campaign. Let’s take a closer look at print media and some advantages it has over its digital counterparts. Last year 7 out of 10 Australians read their favourite magazines - in print. We flipped through $2 billion worth of catalogues, and 90% of us said we preferred receiving tangible mail over that delivered from a digital or social media source. Loyal Readershi...p - Print media sources tend to have longstanding, loyal readership. People may read their hometown newspaper and may also subscribe to specific magazines for long periods of time. This frequent readership helps reinforce the advertiser's message or even develops an ongoing campaign that may cover multiple issues. Advertising in publications that have been around for many years can also lend credibility to the advertiser. Tangibility A print piece is a physical thing. Magazines and publications can stay in houses or offices for months or years, while Internet ads can disappear into cyber space instantaneously. Credibility There is something about print that gives a sense of legitimacy. The saturation of popups and banner ads on the web can be overwhelming and the fear of spam and viruses is enough make people weary of clicking. There is no imminent danger in a print ad. Branding Print ads are excellent for solidifying your brand identity. Your ads should have a consistent aesthetic in terms of fonts, colours and types of images to establish brand recognition. Target Marketing Placing ads in publications such as specialty magazines can effectively reach niche audiences that may be more difficult to target online. More Engaging Consumers are more engaged when reading printed material, unlike websites, which are often skimmed in as little as a 15 second visit. So, how are you incorporating print into your marketing mix? See more

08.01.2022 More Engaging - Printed material offers a longer time to engage and catch your potential customer’s attention. Websites are often skimmed in as little as 15 second visits. The very nature of printed catalogues physicality demands an action ‘I’m in your hand, now you must read me’ (Print Power, 2014).
