25.01.2022 If you know, you know. Even though we are isolating here in Melbourne, Victoria, one thing most of us are doing together, almost habitually on a daily basis, is tuning in to the live pressers. As it’s my sister’s birthday today, I thought it would be most fitting to gift her with this card. If there’s one thing she will miss after this pandemic is over it will be watching Dan Andrews and this purple backdrop . In normal times it would have been a week long festival, celeb...rating her birthday eve, her actual birthday, day of her party. Happy birthday Leslie, together but apart xx Double tap if you knew . P.S. If you are reading this Dan, can you please wish Leslie a Happy Birthday?
25.01.2022 With Father's Day fast approaching, I've had countless requests for personalised gifts for beloved dads. Unfortunately with low stock available and slow postage here in Melbourne due to Covid (yes ) I haven't been able to fulfill many orders this year. Sooooo... I've decided to create some downloadable digital files which is ready for upload to Cricut Design Space or whatever program you'd like to use to create tshirts, onesies, cards, you name it! More designs will be available from tomorrow! These two designs are currently available from www.letterme.com.au/shop Here's a sneaky peek at what I created for Ava and her dad to celebrate their first father's day together. xx
24.01.2022 These swoon-worthy Albrecht Durer Watercolour Markers came in the mail yesterday and I couldn’t resist testing them out with some loose florals today. This experimentation was my first attempt at using watercolour markers to paint, but let me just say, it was T H E R A P E U T I C . Thanks Faber-Castell, they’re amazing xx : Childhood by Scott Buckley www.scottbuckley.com.au
24.01.2022 It feels a bit surreal. Looking outside the window as I work, I can see everyone going about their daily walks, wearing masks. Starting today, Melburnians are required to wear masks whenever we are outside of the safety of our own homes. I have been wearing a mask out for a while now, I figured that if our front line heroes had to wear one twelve hours a day, it was the least I could do to play my part to slow down the spread of this disease. Lockdown 2.0 has felt very diff...erent to the first time round when we felt a sense of solidarity and unity, being "all in this together". Despite our best efforts our numbers are the highest it's ever been, with almost 500 new cases yesterday and another 400+ today. In many ways, Melbourne is on its own whilst the rest of Australia, understandably, has had restrictions eased, being able to return to the gym, dine in at restaurants and resume a life similar to the one we all once knew. What I really wanted to share with my fellow Melburnians is that although we feel segregated now, (and there are lots of hilarious memes going around), deep down we have people who care about us and our wellbeing. I've received lots of messages, it's just so heartwarming to know that people do care. Hang in there, wear your mask, get tested if you're unwell, practice social distancing and personal hygiene and we will get through this. Together. Stay safe my friends. xx P.S. I know our numbers here in Australia are only a tiny fraction of what is happening overseas. Please know that we are thinking of you all. Sending love. P.P.S. I understand that masks are not safe for some members of our community
23.01.2022 I was thrilled to again be invited to be part of Faber-Castell‘s #Colour4Life. Last year I explored colour through watercolour florals. For #Colour4Life2020, I chose to go back to my roots and express myself with colour through my lettering. With so much going on in the world today, I wanted to share the simplicity of communication via colour. Uncluttered, minimal noise, just impactful colour. This year, my interpretation of #Colour4Life isn't just about filling a page wi...th colour, nor using a whole range of colours, but the use of colour in itself; the saturation, the tones, the intensity vs subtlety. I wanted to inspire others in seeing that no matter where we are, what situation we may find ourselves in, who we may be with or without, you can "Create your own Magic". What does #Colour4Life mean to you? Join me in creating your own magic, expressing what colour means to you. There are three MAJOR prizes to be won, go to www.colour4life.com.au for more details.

23.01.2022 One thing I have absolutely missed whilst social distancing is being able to teach at my workshops. I miss sharing my love of lettering and witnessing others experience the joy of being able to create something beautiful. Although I am unable to teach in person at this current time, I feel blessed and truly grateful to still be able to use this platform to inspire others to create their own magic in the safety of their own homes. With thanks to Faber-Castell and #colour4life, I have created these How-to guides to show you how I created this piece. Create your bit of magic, simply snap, tag and share, to enter Faber-Castell’s competition to win one of three AMAZING prizes. Head to www.colour4life.com.au for more details. Good luck xx
22.01.2022 Amidst all the noise, obscurity, instability and fear in the world today, it can be difficult to find calm. Finding what brings you joy, what is therapeutic and where your happy place is is so important. For me, I love to lose myself with colour; sometimes creating beautiful meaningful things, and at other times, creating nonsensical doodling or scribbling. Either way, happiness for me is creating and colour. Whilst my studio is shared with my children who are currently homes...chooling, and it is more chaotic than therapeutic at the best of times, it is where I sit down to create, my happy place. In creating this piece, I found my calm drawing the structure of the banner, and my therapy playing around with the saturation of the watercolour markers. This is what #Colour4life means to me. Join me in finding your bit of joy, expressing what colour means to you. With thanks to @fabercastellaustralia, there are three AMAZING prizes to be won, go to www.colour4life.com.au for more details.

21.01.2022 Any guesses as to what I’m illustrating here to represent Kritika and Aditya’s 2020? I have loved every moment of personalising these custom 2020 commemorative prints. Despite being socially isolated these projects make me feel connected with my clients, learning about their personal lives. Thank you for sharing your life with me and allowing me to capture these moments for you. Xx www.letterme.com.au/shop

19.01.2022 As a passionate crafter I am often conflicted with the amount of wastage that is synonymous with crafting. To try and be more eco-conscious I make every effort to share my tips on how I minimise wastage. In my workshops I talk about arranging and laying out projects to minimise off-cuts, how to utilise the Snapmat function to make the maximum use of awkward off-cuts and filling in the negative spaces within letters with shapes or words that you know you will use again. This... video is a favourite of mine; my daughter and I sorting all the stickers I’ve created for my kids and their friends to use to their hearts’ content. These were all cut from the negative spaces within letters and between words. My kids feel so proud when they take all the empty rolls to the art room at school so that they can be re-used for artwork before being recycled again. I would love it if you could please inspire me and this community with what you do to be more eco-friendly.

13.01.2022 This artwork was designed and drawn by my 7 year old son and calligraphy by my 9 year old daughter for my dad (their Grandpa/YeYe). Such a beautiful message to show him that even though we are isolated, our hearts are with him today and everyday. I couldn’t be more proud. Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful grandpas, dads, uncles, father figures, dads-to-be, would-be-dads, should-be-dads and to everyone missing their dads. 13.01.2022 I’ve always looked forward to Spring. Spring is renewal, the turning of a corner, sunshine, endorphins, new leaves re-emerging, flowers. But especially this year, Spring brings about a promise of something far greater; hope . This celebration of Spring was inspired by childhood memories of my grandmother’s magnolia tree. I was also inspired by my brother-in-law’s photos of his magnolia tree - incredibly most of the flowers withstood the fatal storm that took four lives, dam...aged properties, cut power and resulted in water contamination for around 200,000 residents here in Melbourne. So many of us have been experiencing the fatigue of isolation, our resilience has been tested, and our capacity has been depleted. However just a couple of days of warmer weather and sunshine has already made a huge positive difference. Spring is finally here . Less than two weeks to go Melbourne, we’ve got this .
13.01.2022 It warms my heart to see that my personalised 2020 commemorative prints have made it across the globe, framed and cherished for years to come. These images are a reminder of how it was, and how dramatically different each of our personal lockdown experiences are from one another, and also from a few months ago to now. Those of you from Australia will know that as of last Monday, Melbourne was declared a State of Disaster and us Melburnians are in stage 4 restrictions. For ...the first time in our history, we now have an 8pm curfew, we have limitations on exercise outside of our homes and travel allowance of 5km radius once a day for essential purposes. Most businesses have closed and only permitted workers are allowed to go to work. My heart goes out to all the families who are struggling to make ends meet, those who are finding it difficult to provide for their loved ones, individuals who’s lives are threatened, our incredible front line workers who risk their lives to help others. Stay strong, we can get through this. Together, but apart. Sending love.
12.01.2022 OK big call, but this might be my most favourite iron-on project ever... and probably the biggest fail too, but I still LOVE it. So much so, I might need to make myself one now. You'll need to watch to the end to know why it's just the coolest. If you want to make one, learn from my mistake: use a tshirt three sizes up. This was meant for my ninja loving husband for father's day and not for my son. I can't take credit for the design - I saw a video on facebook but couldn...'t find it again. Let me know who to credit for the concept if you know the original creator. I took the concept but couldn't remember what writing it had on the front. It was pretty witty from memory, but I think "You didn't see me do it" is pretty funny too!!!! Digital SVG is now available for purchase! You know you want to make one!! haha SVG: www.letterme.com.au/shop Machines: Cricut - The Official Page! 10.01.2022 One of the most difficult parts about lockdown for me is being away from family. My niece Sophie was born during the first lockdown. We managed to squeeze in a few cuddles during the short stint before lockdown 2.0 was enforced but since then, we’ve missed out on so many milestones. To help me feel that I can still be there and celebrate these big achievements with her, I enlisted the help of the lovely people @laserblanks to cut these milestone discs for Sophie. I didn...’t want the discs to be too big as Sophie is still tiny, but I was very impressed at how @laserblanks rose to the challenge and was able to cut with such intricate detail. I tried to think of as many upcoming milestones, handlettered them, cut them out with the Cricut and sent these off to my brother and sister-in-law. Sophie will be starting solids soon, so I’m glad a bit of me will be there to celebrate that milestone Let me know if you think of any good ones that I’ve missed! And... if you check out the comments, you’ll see how cheeky she has already become! Acrylic: Laser Blanks App: Procreate Brushes: Custom brushes - www.letterme.com.au/brushes Vinyl: Official Cricut
10.01.2022 My husband woke up super early this morning to bake scones for his team at work for R U OK? Day today. It's a bit ironic, because R U OK? Day is about starting a meaningful conversation, yet today, to keep everyone safe, he had to do a contactless drop off and obviously could NOT physically stay for a conversation. I know that given our current restrictions it's not the same as giving someone a hug or talking in person, but a phone call, text message or even an email can ma...ke ALL the difference. Being in lockdown has been challenging for everyone in their own way. Like so many others here, my days are spent juggling priorities on the homefront; homeschooling two kids whilst trying to work and keep a home functioning. I often forget that although my husband is a permitted worker and allowed to go in to work, it isn't any less isolating for him and everyone there. Regardless of whether you're in lockdown or not at the moment, no one is immune to the struggles of life, it is totally OK to not be OK. Over the past few months especially, I've asked so many people R U OK? But had one of them answered "no", would I truly know what to do and what to say? R U OK Day this year is about learning what to say if someone in your life says that they are not OK. Check-in on your family and your friends, your colleagues and your neighbours, and ask them meaningfully, R U OK? More than ever, the question R U OK? is so powerful in getting the conversation started, but it shouldn't end there. If the answer to R U OK? is "no", or if you feel they are not OK, keep listening without judgement, encourage action, check-in and keep the conversation going. You can help someone you care about through a tough time. Are YOU OK? For more information, please go to: www.ruok.org.au #ruok #ruokday #theresmoretosay
08.01.2022 This piece was created before lockdown here in Australia for three special boys. 01.01.2022 Rituals. Before bed every night, my kids share with us three things they are grateful for. This helps us acknowledge and recognise our blessings throughout the day and hold on to them, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem. A reminder that we have so much to be thankful for . I came across this gratitude journal recently and just had to add it to my store, personally hand lettered with love of course. This one is for my friend Nikki . I love our little ritual. ... Please share with me what rituals you may have in your family. Journal: Available in store www.letterme.com.au/shop/personalised-journals Procreate Brush: www.letterme.com.au/brushes
01.01.2022 And... Jack is back! Fourteen days ahead of schedule to quarantine in his capsule , like a good, responsible elf. The kids are rapt and have been busy writing him letters. Too bad he’s got no pen or paper in his capsule to reply!
