21.01.2022 21 vs 47. It’s easier to Stay in shape than to Get in shape. This is especially true as you get older. You can train hard as you get older but not as hard as you could when you were younger. The increased risk of injury is higher as you get older due to the joints potentially failing earlier when lifting heavy and if you are injured your recovery can take longer due to the body’s recovery process taking longer. All this is compounded if you start training later in life over 30 where you become eager to train and progress too quickly before the body has recovered and adapted. 20.01.2022 Zercher Squats: Great exercise for leg, upper back and anterior core strength. Reinforces proper squat technique by making you open the knees as you go down and by maintaining correct torso upright posture so you don’t fold over or cave in as you squat down. Practical Application: especially useful for developing anterior core strength needed in overcoming force from the front in sports such as rugby union and rugby league.... I also apply it to Police & Security Guards for overcoming assailants who are forcing against them in physical confrontations during apprehension. The core strength and leg strength gained from the Zercher Squat is very important in you being able to now apply great force against assailants to prevent injury to yourself while successfully overcoming their resistance during restraint or apprehension!

Do a heavy lift for 1-2 reps combined with set of faster reps where you aim for moving a much lighter weight as fast as possible.... 17.01.2022 Swissbar Deadstop Press This exercise is a great upper body strength builder and is very safe on the shoulder due to the neutral grip. It’s very useful for my clients who need to produce power very quickly without time for a wind-up period (where you pull back before striking or moving the arms forward) Sports I use this for are boxing and combat sports where you punch or strike/grab from a position with the arms close to the body from a cover up defensive position.... Police and military where you have to use upper body resistive force in a static position where your arms aren’t moving to overcome an assailant or attack from person in front so you can subdue and restrain them. The neutral grip is also more specific and transferable to the sports and jobs due to the defensive positions and grabbing positions occurring with the palms facing each other rather than palms forward as seen in a traditional bench press. By widening the grip for the second set you render the chest more active so you can extend the set once the arms are fatigued and get 1-2 more reps. The extended set allows you to get more volume (reps) at a given intensity (load)
