24.01.2022 We returned to Stoneville today. It was a bit of a mission to get the rig level on a site close to a creek but we got there in the end. The client was also nice enough to flatten out the drill pad and use the dirt to make an earth bund to catch groundwater, if we found any, and keep it out of the creek that is flowing past the drill pad. We reciprocated his helpfulness by filling the bund with groundwater from his shiny new bore. Completed without spilling a drop into the adjoining creek.

24.01.2022 We smelt a rat yesterday when we commissioned a new pump install. Upon startup we found that the installed flow meter was reading a very poor 1.6L/sec. We know for a fact that these pumps are good for ~14L/sec so our initial theory was that it was running in reverse. That turned out to not be the case at all so we took the time to install our Mag Meter to verify that the installed paddle meter was indeed out of calibration. Our mag meter is accurate to a +- 140mL margin of e...rror for every 1000 litres that passes the meter. The result speaks for itself. The pump is indeed pumping as it should and the water meter has been proven to be light years out of calibration given it was indicating a flow rate anywhere between 0.66 and 1.66L/sec while passing 14L/sec through the hydrometer. The client has been instructed to have their hydrometer inspected and, if possible recalibrated, or replaced.

23.01.2022 Yep. We are done here, not even 10:00 and we have found water in hard rock. Time to install the casing!

23.01.2022 Bingo! Our client is doing cartwheels! This year so far they’ve had a mere 150mm of rainfall. Today their water woes are done with after we struck paydirt on the outskirts of Darkan, Western Australia in Culbin, Western Australia, Australia A very comfy 2-3L/sec of very usable water for the clients upcoming ventures. Time to move on to the next job in Wedgecarrup.

22.01.2022 Ticked the box yet again here, good stock water supply which is nice to see given the tendency for hyper saline groundwater in the area. This marks the eighth bore that we’ve drilled this week. Not bad going given we are a man short this week!

21.01.2022 A good demonstration on what can happen with good management of a groundwater resource. Properly constructed bores, capped and decommissioned old or non compliant bores and sustainable groundwater abstraction is the only way to protect this resource.

21.01.2022 McKnoe Drive today. We were here drilling when the subdivision was first developed. Decades later we are still drilling in the area.

21.01.2022 This submersible pump is in a bit of a sorry state. Here’s the pump suction and delivery, chockers full of iron scale! The bore has been airlifted, serviced, sanitised and a shiny new pump is being installed. The bore will be online by the end of the day.

21.01.2022 It’s shaping up to be a busy few months ahead. Our current waiting list extends out into January with over forty clients on the books patiently waiting to have their bores drilled and constructed. As a matter of fact we’ve been going flat out for over a year solid! We’ve worked throughout the Wheatbelt and Great Southern parts of WA with drought stricken farmers as well as maintaining a steady completion rate within the Perth metro area and surrounding suburbs. ... Our services have been sought out by clients all over the state from Port Headland Western Australia to Albany, Western Australia , Bunbury, Western Australia and Leonora, Western Australia As we head into the Australian Summer a regular bushfire danger makes itself apparent, perhaps even more so now, given the disastrous bushfires that the eastern states had endured late last year and early this year still fresh in our minds. Bushfire weather conditions increase the risk of starting a major fire that threatens lives, homes and the environment. Follow these links from Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA for an overview of Bushfire and what you can do to manage bushfire risk on your property. https://www.dfes.wa.gov.au/bushfire/ https://www.dfes.wa.gov.au//bu/Pages/allpublications.aspx As always, when we enter a property we’d like to see the grass slashed and preferably a bare earth drill pad installed prior to drilling to manage bushfire risk on our end. We carry fire suppression equipment, water and spark arrested exhausts on all engines. It’s up to everyone to stay safe and enjoy the summer.

21.01.2022 We’ve spent a lot of time down here over the last six months or so. It’s good to be back and still finding the good stuff.

20.01.2022 We found a good supply of fresh water in an area known to have brackish groundwater supplies in Morangup. We drilled through thirty three metres of sticky clay to finally tag a saprolite weathered zone on top of hard rock. The client now has one of the better bores that we’ve installed in the area and is looking forward to installing a pump.

19.01.2022 Marge! Marge! The rains are ‘ere!!

19.01.2022 Southern Brook, Western Australia, Australia today. We are drilling on a sandalwood plantation.

18.01.2022 Our second time in Gidge in as many days. We seem to be working our way closer and closer to the Peter Brock Memorial And Crash Site. We might pay a visit once we are done here.

18.01.2022 We went fishing today. Got one first bite haha! Now to drill!

18.01.2022 It’s not very often you get to see a six metre wide river of groundwater being discharged from the hole whilst drilling. A good 7+L/sec fresh water supply located in the Avon Ridge sub division in Brigadoon. One of the more exceptional bores we’ve drilled in the hills over the last several decades.

17.01.2022 That was a whirlwind tour of the Great Southern Region! We serviced three bores and drove almost 600km for the day. Time for the weekend!

16.01.2022 A few minutes ago it was raining. Time to get on with the job!

16.01.2022 What do you do when a tap won’t turn? Faucet. Enough of the dad jokes, this down hole hammer is proving to be quite a tough nut to crack. So now we get the big guns out. Our breakout bench is capable of applying up to 150,000 Newton Metres of torque. That should get it undone, or twist it in two....

14.01.2022 We talked ourselves out of a bit of work today. A client who had the bore drilled by us but chose to install their own pump about two years ago contacted us with an issue with the pump not starting up after winter. A couple of suggestions quickly isolated the problem which turned out to be ants in the contactor switch. A suggestion which saved the client hundreds of dollars, their garden, and the pump is back online without even visiting the property. That’s the way it’s done. That’s what you get with a contractor who has decades of specialist experience.

13.01.2022 Our reputation for top quality work travels around a fair bit. Today we received an inquiry from Leonora, Western Australia in the Northern Goldfields.

12.01.2022 The hills are alive with the sound of rotary percussion drilling!!! We think Julie Andrews did the original version wayyyy better, but theres one thing we can do better than anyone else.... Drill hard rock. ... Today we are in Jarrahdale, Western Australia

11.01.2022 Production bore is back online and delivering water to the reticulation system!

10.01.2022 That is one chocker block truck and trailer! Literally no room nor weight to spare. Weighed in at 30t (max legal weight 31.5t). The next week will be filled with mud rotary drilling into various paleochannel resources in the area. Then it’s back up to Perth to tackle our rapidly growing waiting list.

10.01.2022 Back to the hills in Brigadoon today exploring for water in hard rock. We are a man down today with out offsider, Mick being unwell. Hopefully he recovers quickly so we can have him back as soon as he’s feeling better.

09.01.2022 We did well today, we found a good quality stock water supply uphill from a dam that makes/holds water that is as salty as the sea. A good result given the salinity issues in the area.

09.01.2022 The trucks are loaded for another trip to the southern Wheatbelt to find water for some desperate farmers. Their dams are dangerously low after a pitiful year of rainfall totalling 150mm.

07.01.2022 Our second install for the day in a very gravelly weathered zone on top of hard rock. It’s a good stock and spray water supply which gives us an 80% Success rate for this particular farmer.

07.01.2022 We’ve got the supervisor overseeing a flow test today. Everything seems to be operating to her satisfaction.

05.01.2022 Much nicer weather for drilling today compared to the weekend! This week we’ll be spending a good amount of time in Gidgegannup.

05.01.2022 You know you’ve got a top of the line reputation for excellent work when you find out that other drilling contractors say to their clients that they sub-contract to us. This is not the case and has never been the case! Whilst we have forwarded work on to contractors with smaller equipment for tight access jobs we have never, ever subcontracted work out to other drilling contractors. We pride ourselves on top quality workmanship and we don’t appreciate contractors capitalising on our reputation in this way.

04.01.2022 What a strange day for the last day of Spring. We’ve been rained on half a dozen times already! Inbetween showers it’s a lovely spring day. We’ve maintained good penetration in hard rock today sitting around 0.4-0.5m/min all day.

04.01.2022 Stoneville today! Hard rock drilling from the surface. Our speciality.

04.01.2022 Did you know that we can provide a comprehensive field assessment of your groundwater? Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen, Specific Condictivity, Totally Dissolved Solids, pH, Oxidation Reduction Potential and Alkalinity are all readily available in the field. In this case the groundwater is an exceptional 159.9mg/L TDS. Rainwater is 20-50mg/L for comparison. Drinking water is ideally under 500mg/L.

04.01.2022 We’ve got some spare time after Easter available so we thought we’d hop in and drill a hole or two for some very patient clients of ours. over the last couple of years we’ve had waiting lists extending from several weeks to several months during the summer period. Currently we are taking bookings for August. We thank all of our valued clients for their custom and their patience! It won’t be long before we are drilling holes for you guys too!

01.01.2022 You know things are going well when you don’t have time for a photo to go with your post. We have the first bore installed by 09:30. We arrived on site at 08:00. An easy 15-18L/min at the highest point on the farm.
