21.01.2022 2020. New decade, endless possibilities. For our January edition of Major Projects, we thought we would focus on a project tipped to be Brisbanes own Central Park. Lord mayor Adrian Schrinner revealed Brisbanes biggest park in 50 years this month, the 45 Hectare 18 Hole golf course at Herston 2km north of the CBD will be developed into parkland in 2021. He was quoted as saying This is going to be a sanctuary in the city for residents and visitors. The Brisbane city cou...ncil released a masterplan which includes a 1.4-hectare lake, boardwalks and paths, suspended canopy walks and a tree house, water park, skate park and tennis courts. The plan will incorporate a central hub to celebrate Brisbanes heritage and natural environment with an urban farm and community garden. The draft plan is out now for public consultation following the release of 5 creative concepts submitted by architecture and planning firms. Whilst releasing the plan Mr Schrinner said This iconic park will also drive tourism by attracting national and international visitors, given its proximity to the city and public transport links, including the Brisbane Metro. The lord mayor confirmed that the putt-putt course, driving range and function centre would remain. The Victoria Park concept plan is open to the public for review and feedback until April 28 on the Brisbane City Councils website. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr6QYOWhoEs#action=share

Many property buyers, residential and investors look for areas with quality amenities (Like Parklands, Waterparks and shopping districts) that enrich the lives of the residents. As a feature we thought we would review some of the new residential developments around Brisbane. Flagstone has a skate park, soccer field, huge playground and soon a new Water play park. Overall 5 Stars.

21.01.2022 COVID-19 Pandemic and the Construction Industry While nationally the Australian government has instigated Stage 2 of their COVID-19 plan, which sees all non-essential businesses close to combat the spread of coronavirus, Australias construction sites are so far exempt from the list. The Queensland Government in particular believes that construction sites have a huge role to play in providing jobs and sustaining economic activity.
