25.01.2022 PARTNER/ DE FACTO VISA - the last 2 pillars of the relationship Nature of the commitment eternal love It is important that both people in the relationship have a strong commitment to each other , this means that you depend on each other for emotional supportp . You should be able to share with the Department of Home Affairs your plans for the future . Whether this is by getting married (for de facto relationship) , buying a house together or having children you... need to be able to show that your relationship is long term and continuing . Social aspects of the relationship public displays of affection? Home Affairs will be looking at whether others see you as a couple. That is, do family and friends consider that you and your partner are together ? Photos of you and your partner together at social events and gatherings can be used as evidence . Social media posts, such as Facebook posts, that show you together with family and friends can also be useful. If you have close people that know about the genuineness of your relationship, they can write a statutory declaration , which is a legal document, to provide support to your claims. In particular, a statutory declaration from an Australian citizen or permanent resident can carry more weight . ------------------ For all your Visa needs, send us a message or contact LEVISA at: Email: [email protected] Phone / Viber / Zalo: 0492 470 002 ----------------------------- #LEVISA #visa #immigration #defacto #partner

25.01.2022 New massive fines for not declaring what you bring into Australia Once international borders open people will be able to travel back to Australia again and it is important for you to know the rules about what you can bring into the country. There have been new changes to the law. From 1 January, 2021, the maximum fines you can receive for bringing the wrong things into the country will increase from $444 to a massive $2664 if you don’t declare it. ... In addition to this, you can even get your visa cancelled for bringing undeclared items . In the past, only visitor visa holders could be cancelled for non-declaration of high-risk biosecurity goods, but the new changes mean that student visa and temporary work visa holders can also face the cancellation. Here is the most 5 things that you must declare when bringing to Australia: Meat and seafood (including pork, chicken, sausages, beef jerky, meat floss and uncooked prawns) Fresh fruits (including dragon fruits, jack fruit, mangosteen, star apple) Vegetables or fresh herbs Wood products which could contain, insect pests, bark, fungi, or mould (such as untreated wooden souvenirs) Nuts or seeds (peanuts, cashew nuts, fresh lotus seeds and seeds for planting in the garden) What should you do? Before going to Australia , you should check which kinds of goods that will be approved when travelling to Australia. When filling the declaration form, you must be honest. You should declare your belongings if there are any in the list above, and don’t hide anything. By this way, Customs officers simply look at what you have got and will tell you what is allowed into the country. If you declare this and they find a non-permitted item they may throw that item away, but you won’t get any fines or risk having your visa cancelled. JUST DECLARE DON’T BE SORRY!!! ------------------------ For all your Visa needs, send us a message or contact LEVISA at: Email: [email protected] Phone / Viber / Zalo: 0492 470 002

24.01.2022 Hi my friends, I am an international student like many of you who are reading this letter. From my experience, I know that moving to another country is stressful ; for example you will need to consider things such as studying or finding jobs But the main topic that I would like to tell you about is finding the right accommodations . Here are some insights into finding a suitable place, so you can get ready when the international borders are open again to Australia. It ...depends on your preferences for your renting house or room, but I would recommend that you rent a room with a home owner or homestay arrangement in Australia. The owners always have their rules to keep the house clean and well-organised so you could find it more comfortable when you come home after a long day . However, there might have a couple of strict rules relating to curfew time . Your second option is to live with other students under one roof . For this situation, there are a couple of plus points such as expanding your social circle or enriching your knowledge about the other cultures . Nevertheless, you may have to cope with many problems about housemates’ awareness of keeping hygiene in shared zones Lastly, you could choose to live on campus in a dormitory; but this option might be expensive (about A$250- over A$400 per week). However, in turn you will save your time going to lectures and tutorials, have a safe place to study with fully access to any facilities for students, gym, shared areas, for example. How can you find a place to live Well, you can find renting house information via Marketplace on Facebook or ask your agent, or even by word of mouth from your friends. For the dormitory, you have to contact your desired institution to get more information. I would say that don’t worry about the difficulties, contact LEVISA to get more information. We will help you to overcome the stressful problem. To sum up, studying abroad is a way to challenge yourself and learn new things, and jump out your comfort zone and explore the world ^^. This starts with organising the living arrangements that are right for you. Cheers, ------------------------------------------ Contact LEVISA now to learn more about scholarships available to you! 21.01.2022 Successful PR Application Special thanks to Thuong for his complimentary words on our service With Levisa, Thuong and his family have fulfilled their goal of becoming Australian permanent residents. This is terrific news, and we are sure that Thuong and his family will have a wonderful time getting familiar with their second home ... Thuong wrote: "Me and my family have finally received our permanent residency after a long and arduous process. This is truly wonderful and we can’t thank Mr. Vinh and Levisa enough. Mine was not an easy case; however, Vinh had sat me down and comprehensively went over my application’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as set realistic expectations before we go forward with the process. What set Levisa apart from other migration agencies I had been to was how much care they put into my case after the initial contract was signed. With other agencies, I often had to make sure that they were working on my case, and sometimes there would be no progress for several months. With Levisa, however, I never had to experience that stress. Everything was on time, realistic, professional, clear and straight-to-the-point (which is something I really appreciate). Finally, I believe that Vinh doesn’t take these cases for money because Vinh would take on your case once he had had a thorough assessment of your application. Therefore, I had complete and utter faith in the outcome when Vinh told me that he would be working on it personally. Once again, I can’t thank Mr. Vinh Le and Levisa enough." ----------------------------------- #LEVISA #StudyCBR #Immigration

19.01.2022 Partner visas - did you know Generally, as an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, you can only sponsor an overseas partner on two occasions within your lifetime. A partner visa is usually a two-stage process:... For the first stage, you can be granted a temporary partner visa For the second stage, you can be granted a permanent partner visa. The process is long and can take up to three years in total. In most cases, you cannot get a permanent visa until two years after your application is made. However, there is an exemption for long-term relationships of three years or more at the time of application. 18.01.2022 How to get a driver license in the ACT It is true that possessing a car in Australia generally and Canberra particularly is not necessary when public transport system here is highly developed. However, in the long run, you should have one to be more independent and comfortable to travel from one place to another. But first you need a driver license to legally drive in Australia. So how can we get it? Firstly, you need to know that there are a couple of different classif...ications of driver license here: Learner (L): Any person aged 15 years and 9 months or more may apply for a learner driver licence to drive a motor car. Provisional license (P): if you have already obtained a driver license in your home country, you do not need to go through the P license period. For P license, there are two types: 1 P red: After you have passed your practical test, or the CBT&A Scheme, you will be issued with a photographic provisional driver licence (red) for a three year period. 2 P blue: Drivers/riders returning to driving/riding after a court imposed cancellation or disqualification will be required to hold a probationary driver licence for 12 months before progressing to the previous licence held. Full license (F): After a three-year provisional period has been completed, you will be eligible to obtain a full driver licence. Or you can get it after finishing the learner one if you have already obtained a driver license in your home country. Secondly, going to the main part of this post, what is the process of getting driver license? There are some steps below: 1 You have to pass the knowledge test first, which has 35 questions both tolerant and intolerant for any incorrect answers. The test costs more than AU$40 for 2 attempts, and about AU$5 for your identity image. This is where you can practice: https://bit.ly/3cemtEs This is where you can learn all safe rules: https://bit.ly/3hEkBFW (Road Ready Handbook, updated in 2019) 2 After passing the test, you need to go to Access Canberra to get your logbook and L plates. Then, you have to book a driving instructor to learn until the instructor see you can drive safely. From 2020, every learner in the ACT will go through 100 hours practice with their driving instructor AND a FULL LICENSEE, including 10 hours at night. Also, you must pass Hazard Perception Test to reach any further driver license, which costs AU$25 from the second attempt. 3 Subsequently, you have to go to Access Canberra again to get P plates and P license or full license if you have already obtained a driver license in your home country. To get full license, it costs about AU$270. ---------------------------- For all your Visa needs, send us a message or contact LEVISA at: Email: [email protected] Phone / Viber / Zalo: 0492 470 002 See more

16.01.2022 How I almost got scammed! The warning signs that you need to know. As international students, we have a lot going on almost constantly. We already have to take care of ourselves, to do well academically, and to make ends meet with part time jobs. The last thing we need is scammers threatening us so they can steal our hard-earned money. I want to share with you my recent experience with scammers so you can spot the warning signs. Not too long ago, I received a me...ssage claiming to be from the Department of Home Affairs , saying that I had to call a number back. Right off the bat something was weird. Why would the government want to contact me? I don’t recall doing anything unlawful. However, I was still worried and confused. I know for a fact that I didn’t do anything wrong, but it was also possible that I committed something wrong and simply wasn’t aware of it. As a tech student, I knew that any message with an unsolicited link or phone number is bad news. I remained calm and decided not to call the mystery number back. Instead, I went on the Department of Home Affairs website and found the real phone number and gave them a call. After explaining what had occurred the Department was able to confirm it was a scam. Scammers often target international students. They will impersonate immigration officers or police to threaten students with huge fines, deportation or even jail. Don’t be fooled, they just want your money and ask for payment by gift cards, cash apps or international bank transfer. If you send them your money, you will never see it again. Australians have lost $8.8 million this year to scammers, and young people lose the most money. Overall, I was scared half to death , but my own research expertly done on the internet ultimately confirmed that it was indeed a scam, and I could go about my days with peace of mind again. Stay tuned as we will be sharing some tips and tricks to avoid becoming a victim to scammers. 16.01.2022 Partner Visas We all know that the search for Mr or Mrs Right can be very hard. Sometimes, your soulmate may live in another country and being together will require a partner visa to bring them to Australia When it comes to the Department of Home Affairs showing that you love someone isn’t always enough for them to be granted a visa! ... In fact, there are a range of factors that the Department of Home Affairs will consider to determine if your relationship is genuine and the real deal. Some of these factors are not always obvious and it helps to know what the Department is looking for to make sure your partner visa application does not get refused Over the coming weeks LEVISA will be running our ‘Partner visa series’ to give you some tips on bringing or keeping the love of your life here in Australia (and just as Spring approaches!)

14.01.2022 Things you should know about Easter Holiday. What to do on this occasion? When living in Vietnam, many of us might have heard of Easter, with bunnies and egg hunt. But we can only truly see the legit Easter atmosphere when we study abroad in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, or Australia. Chocolate eggs, marshmallow bunnies, and hot cross buns fill up supermarket shelves . What a sight to behold! What is Easter Holiday and why is it so import...ant in some countries? Easter is one of the two most important festivals celebrated by Christians around the world (the other is Christmas). It is a celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his Crucifixion. The origin of this holiday can be traced by to Eostre, the Teutonic goddess of spring and fertility. Easter is not just one day, but an entire season. The 40-day period leading up to Easter Sunday is called Lent. How is Easter celebrated? Easter is celebrated by Christian churches around the world with special services, music, candlelight, flowers and ringing of church bells. In certain countries, such as the UK, people gift chocolate Easter eggs and Easter bunnies to each other and organize egg hunt in their back garden . Families will gather together for dinner and have roast lamb, a traditional dish. 11.01.2022 Top 5 tips to avoid becoming a victim of scammers As with the previous post, I briefly mentioned the resources I used to determine that the message I got was a scam. I still genuinely believe that it will be of tremendous help to international students, and I need to get the words out. Top 5 tips to avoid scams ... 1 Stay calm - don’t be pressured by a threatening caller. Stop, think and check whether their story is true. 2 A Government agency or trusted company will never ask you to pay by unusual methods such as by gift card, money apps or Bitcoin. 3 Never call the number or click on an unknown link provided in emails always find them through your own online search or go to the official website 4 Australia is a safe place, but it’s prudent not to leave your electronic devices alone for too long. As a tech student, I can tell you right now that there is more information on your devices that you might be aware of. 5 Be very careful and wary of any requests for your money - scammers can gain access to the social media accounts to impersonate your family and friends to trick you into giving them money. For more information you should read a free e-book aptly titled The Little Black Book of Scams. It details every type of scams people typically encounter, and it even has a nifty Vietnamese version as well. You can get a copy of the book at: www.accc.gov.au/publications/the-little-black-book-of-scams You can also find out more by visiting www.scamwatch.gov.au. This site gives you news on the latest scams, including how to report a scam. Overall, I would definitely suggest anyone recently targeted by a scam to go over the two free resources provided with the links provided (Don’t worry, I’m not trying to scam you. The links have .gov in them so you know they’re legit). I’m sure they will be worth your time. 10.01.2022 DE FACT TO VISA - The first 2 pillars of the relationship Financial aspects sharing is caring! You need to have evidence that you have a shared life together. That means you share money and help each other with expenses for your family. You will need to have evidence of any joint loans or major purchases together . ... Many couples also have a joint bank account where they pool their incomes together and use the money to pay for everyday living expenses. A joint bank account is only good evidence if it is regularly used by both parties . Nature of the household - nesting You will need to show how you and your partner have come together as a family . This means providing evidence of whether you live together in the same house. How you share household responsibilities, for example, does one person do the cooking while the other does the cleaning or washing up? Household responsibilities can also include how you share raising children and how you keep the family happy and healthy. ----------------------- For all your Visa needs, send us a message or contact LEVISA at: Email: [email protected] Phone / Viber / Zalo: 0492 470 002 ----------------------------- #LEVISA #visa #immigration #defacto #partner

09.01.2022 STUDY ONLINE: A RETROSPECTION My name is Cng, currently doing my second year of Network and Software Engineering at the University of Canberra, and I would like to share with you my most recent experience studying online because of the COVID lockdown. While the situation certainly wasn't ideal, all in all, my experience was certainly not bad by any stretch.... With the course's delivery method being online, a lot of the crucial interactions between the professors and students are missing. While there were active students making contributions to the topic discussed, the more reserved students (myself included lol) never really bothered speaking up. We understand that this is to our own detriments; nevertheless, staring at a screen is definitely not conducive to social interactions. That said, a positive aspect that came out of the situation was the amount of time I had for homework. Suddenly, not having to go to uni to attend lectures and tutorials frees up a lot of time otherwise spent on travelling, time that could be used on schoolwork. Finals switching over to assignments did alleviate the stress of having to pour 3-month worth of knowledge on a few pieces of papers in 4 hours. My GPA did take a hit, but overall, it wasn't anything too severe. I simply can't wait to go back to school this February, though . -------------------- Email: [email protected] Phone / Viber / Zalo: 0492 470 002 ---------------------- #LEVISA #WEAREUC #UC #UCC #STUDYCBR #STUDYABROAD #Canberra #Australia #studyoverseas
