25.01.2022 It's lovely to be back at the @ausballet working today. Our training was on Pointe.
24.01.2022 Very excited to have provided an image of my grandparents for the Sydney Street Photography exhibition at the Museum of Sydney. The 'young romantic couple' were captured mid stride in 1940, one year before they were married. Probably on a day trip from Newcastle, catching the train from Fassifern to Central.
24.01.2022 What we have here is the before shots of The Rochester Sports Museum. Stay tuned over 2019 for updates on this wonderful community project which I am honored to be curating. Rochester Sports Museum #rochysportsmuseum #rochesterlionsclub #lionscentennial
22.01.2022 I'm excited and proud to share the news that The Johnston Collection is now available online. I worked closely with Louis and his team to get their data on the Vernon Browser and I couldn't be happier for them. They are constantly working to improve their data quality - the work never really ends.
20.01.2022 It is officially open for business. @rochestersportsmuseum opened with a bang last Sunday. 350 people attended the opening day celebrations including our guests of honor @sharelle_mcmahon, Herb Elliott and donor John Forbes. I couldn't be prouder of my work and the achievements of this community. #levoiconsulting #levoiconsultingcurrentclient #rochesterlionsclub #rochysportsmuseum @ Rochester, Victoria
20.01.2022 If you want to develop your understanding of preservation risk assessment then take advantage of this opportunity. With none other than the wonderful Robert Waller - my mentor.
15.01.2022 How can you ever pick just one favourite Brett Whiteley? Brett Whiteley: Drawing Is Everything at AGNSW. #brettwhiteleydrawings #brettwhiteley #agnsw
15.01.2022 Presenting at the Digital Collections workshop today on behalf of Vernon Systems. Check out the digitisation toolkit for small collecting institutions. A fantastic resource.
14.01.2022 Thanks to my reasonable understanding of art law I can just about follow the ins and outs of this case, but one thing is ringing in my ears - Norman Palmer QC CBE telling us that you should always do everything in your power to avoid going to court. No one ever wins when it goes to court.
14.01.2022 Long overdue on my work-in-progress shots for Rochester Sports Museum. So far we've restored, painted, installed museum track lighting, sourced gorgeous Nautilus showcases from Tasco, utalised the local men's shed for making showcase furniture, drapes and window fixtures, aircon, and other stuff here and there. Showcases are slowly coming together. Still much to be done. Opening late October. #levoiconsulting #levoicurrentclient #lionscentenaryproject @rochestersportsmuseum
12.01.2022 I presented a paper today at the bi-annual Australian Society of Sports Historians conference. Gave an overview of my project with the Rochester Lions Club; developing an exhibition of the John Forbes sports memorabilia collection. It always gets me reinvigorated when I hang with my fellow sport history geeks.
12.01.2022 Mirka at Heide Museum of Modern Art. The show looks great.
11.01.2022 I met Cameron Mitchell at the Australian Society of Sports Historians conference last week. He has put his heart and soul into developing the Australian BMX Museum. It is currently online only but he is pushing for a physical home for the collection. His effort is an inspiration.
09.01.2022 Paperwork paperwork paperwork
09.01.2022 Levoi Consulting clients. Get on board to support this community project.
07.01.2022 @rochestersportsmuseum update. 2D items are up thanks to my awesome art handler Tony and cricket bats are suspended thanks to my other awesome assistant @dalecoxnotmyart. Getting there bit by bit with a great community and team of volunteers. #levoiconsulting #levoiconsultingcurrentclient, #rochestersportsmuseum
06.01.2022 I recently completed the Certificate in Antiquities Trafficking and Art Crime from the University of Glasgow. The course was great, totally relevant to my work, and full of juicey case studies. I am now totally obsessed with doing these courses on Future Learn. I'm enrolled in two more, not so relevant to my work, but you know - just for fun.
06.01.2022 I'm privileged in my freelance work to see behind the scenes of so many amazing collections, but most of my days are spent like this; standing at my desk looking at data in spreadsheets. #realitiesofcollectionmanagement #museumcollections #levoiconsulting #levoicurrentclient #castlemaineartmuseum
05.01.2022 Collection photography, storage and inventory at Castlemaine Art Museum. Getting this place back in action with the hard working CAM Board Member Dr Chris McAuliffe. #castlemaineartmuseum #levoiconsulting #levoicurrentclient #collectionmanagement #victorianregionalgalleries @ Castlemaine, Victoria
05.01.2022 More awkward disputes. One word for curators who want to avoid having their exhibitions impacted by these claims - due dilligence! (Argh - ok it's two words.)
04.01.2022 Get your geek on at the @australasianregistrars conference. My all time favourite cataloguing manual got a mention. And some other intense collection management stuff to think about. Fab speakers today. #levoiconsulting #australasianregistrars
04.01.2022 Tamworth - you may be dry and have a lot of flights cancelled but you are still lovely place to visit. Three epic days of Vernon training (and eHive) successfully delivered. Watch this space for Tamworth cultural collections coming online. @tamworthregionalgallery #levoiconsulting #vernonsystems #ehive @ Tamworth Regional Gallery
03.01.2022 Light damage 101. My newest educational tool. #lightdamage #museumconservation #levoiconsulting #levoicurrentclient
03.01.2022 Sarah Gray, Alison Spence Montillet, Shelley Blake - one to keep in mind. Looks like an interesting course.
03.01.2022 Further insight into the Women's Rugby PhD opportunity in the UK.
03.01.2022 This opportunity is effectively building on the research I undertook when I worked at the World Rugby Museum (Museum of Rugby) from 2002-2007. I cannot recommend this enough. Dr Tony Collins is a world authority on Rugby League and Rugby Union history and a great guy to work with. If I was still in the UK I'd be applying for this for sure. Check it out. Rosie, Nessie, Esther pass it around.
02.01.2022 A beautiful, whimsical exhibition Make Believe: the Story of the Myer Christmas Windows Melbourne Museum. Loved it @historygirrrl.
01.01.2022 Congrats to my friends/colleagues/clients @heidemoma for launching their collection online. Check out collection.heide.com.au/explore. I'm happy to have contributed to this achievement, in the tiniest way, at the beginning and the end. And here is one of my favourite artworks which I fell in love with when I worked at Heide. John Perceval, An Angel waking up in a tree, c.1957. #collectionsonline #vernonbrowser #heidecollection #levoiconsulting
01.01.2022 The cup that inspired The Johnston Collection. Minton Cup, England c.1811. (Well, not this cup, this is my new Xmas decoration inspired by the cup that inspired the collection.) Last client for the year. #tjcollection #mintoncup #thejohnstoncollection @tjcmuseum #levoiconsulting #levoicurrentclient
