25.01.2022 It was such an honour and privilege for our legal director, Naomi Lewis, to not only be a part of the planning committee for the QLS and FLPA Family Law Residential for 2017, but also to chair two sessions over the course of the two days. And so comes to a close a wonderful conference for our fellow family lawyers and associated professionals.

24.01.2022 Thank you to Mitchell Fine Art Gallery for the placard to compliment the beautiful artwork we have in our foyer. We feel like we're starting our own little gallery and can't wait to add more to the collection.

23.01.2022 Today we welcome our new Law Clerk, Matthew Doyle to the L&T family. We'll no doubt plaster Matt's face all over our social media pages in time, but for today it'll just be the welcome pack we put together to prepare him for life as a budding family lawyer. We are so pleased to have Matt on board and look forward to his contributions to our team. #wearegrowing #lifeofalawyer

23.01.2022 Happy Friday from us at Lewis & Trovas. It's been a BIG week but we are still smiling (puppies visiting the office tends to assist with that...)

19.01.2022 We love to be loved

19.01.2022 We are very fortunate to be a part of a collegiate and supportive family law fraternity in Brisbane as we all play our part in assisting families through separation and divorce. Today we received a beautiful referral gift from @parrycoatesfamilylaw Thank you to Rebecca, Daniel and Candace. Such a lovely surprise for a Friday afternoon. . . . #flowermagic #flowerstagram #familylawyerbrisbane #divorcelawyerbrisbane... #lewisandtrovas #brisbanelawyer #brisbanebusiness #brisbane #brisbanecbd #brisbanecity #brisbanefamilies #brisbanelife #lawyerlife #lifeofalawyer See more

18.01.2022 When working with our clients, we are often assisting them through a highly emotional, anxiety-provoking time. The grief can be debilitating. "Are you ok?" are just three words that can sometimes take a bit of courage to ask, but could make a world of difference to someone you care about. If you're worried about a friend or family member but you're not sure how to start the dialogue, visit https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask #ruokday2017

17.01.2022 Redefining the concept of "family" after separation and divorce can be one of the greatest challenges, particularly when children are involved... but it's important to remember that families come in all shapes and sizes and, after you have allowed yourself time to grieve your loss and recalibrate, redesigning your family blueprint can be a uniquely positive journey.

16.01.2022 It was wonderful to indulge in a celebratory dinner at Alchemy to welcome Matthew to our team and acknowledge that the firm is now six months old. How time flies. It's taken since last Friday night to find the time to post this photo, so clearly our second six months is off to a cracking start as well! The Christmas break will be upon us in no time

16.01.2022 This week we celebrated two months of Lewis & Trovas. And what a brilliant two months it has been! The success of our business so far has truly exceeded our expectations and so we extend a big thank you to our friends, colleagues, referral networks and clients for your support. Keep it coming! #growlt #celebrations #moetmoment #moet #familylawyerbrisbane #divorcelawyerbrisbane

14.01.2022 Our legal director, Naomi Lewis, went on a little excursion today to get to the court she was appearing in #gladstone #courtappearance #lifeofalawyer

12.01.2022 It is "renovation week" at Lewis&Trovas, but only a few more days and our city office should be ready to go. A big thank you to our friends and colleagues who have allowed us to use their boardrooms in the meantime, and thank you to our clients who have been very patient while we go through this process. Not long now!

12.01.2022 When working with our clients, we are most often assisting them through a highly emotional and anxiety-provoking experience. Sometimes just a smiling face and a pop of colour can make an, albeit small, but positive change in an otherwise difficult day. We can always rely on our executive assistant and brand manager, Sophia, to provide exactly that for those who wander into our firm, just like when she returned from the markets at lunchtime today with some beautiful blooms to brighten the office. #bloom #smile #thelittlethings #flowermagic #flowerstagram #lewisandtrovas #familylawyerbrisbane #divorcelawyerbrisbane #growlt @the_es_elle_diaries

12.01.2022 This week is "Law Week" and this morning our legal director, Naomi Lewis, spoke about what it meant to her to be a part of the legal profession - "When I was at law school I really had no appreciation for just how privileged I was to be sitting in those classrooms and walking those halls. I had no intention of actually becoming a lawyer. Maths, finance and economics were more appealing to me at that point, so I found that, after uni, that was the profession I ended up in. But... after a few years I realised that my career was missing something. It was missing "people". It was missing exposure to raw but beautiful human emotion that keeps every one of us ticking along each day. Now, as a family lawyer, I am so privileged to have my clients share their thoughts, feelings, emotions and legal challenges with me. I am so privileged to be able to rationally identify and offer them solutions to those challenges, and to advocate for them when they can't. I am so privileged to, at the end of each day, feel as though I have made a difference, however big or small. It is a wondrous thing to be a lawyer." #lawweek2017 #law #lawyer #familylawyer #familylawyerbrisbane #divorcelawyerbrisbane #privilege #loveyourjob #loveyourwork #lewisandtrovas #sensitiveandsolutionfocused #growlt

11.01.2022 Another exceptionally beautiful Gold Coast day for the QLS and FLPA Family Law Residential #FamilyLawRes #familylawyers #flpa

10.01.2022 Another property settlement negotiated in a timely fashion, and cleanly finalised with consent orders. We're just about to head down the road to have the documents filed. And the most important part - no need for our client or the other party to walk into a courtroom. Another happy client, which also means another happy day at our law firm #happyclienthappylawyer

07.01.2022 We had a wonderful evening letting our hair down with our fellow family lawyers at the QLS and FLPA Family Law Residential dinner. Always a highlight of our professional year #FamilyLawRes #flpa #familylawyers

07.01.2022 The program for the 2017 FLPA and QLS Family Law Residential has been released. It certainly is the highlight of the professional development calendar for family lawyers and associated professionals, and this year will not disappoint. Our legal director, Naomi Lewis, has not only been privileged enough to be a part of the Planning Committee over the past few months, but will also be chairing two of the scheduled sessions. You can check out what the event is all about here - http://flr.qls.com.au

07.01.2022 Our lack of social media presence in the last little while goes to show just how busy we have been! Our firm has enjoyed a wonderful festive season, and weve now closed up shop until 8 January 2018. We wish our valued referrers, colleagues and clients a merry Christmas and a beautiful break over the holiday period.

06.01.2022 As a part of the steering committee for the Greater Brisbane Family Law Pathways Network (FLPN), our legal director, Naomi Lewis, attended a FLPN seminar today reflecting on the Queensland Child Protection Commission of Inquiry. His Honour Justice Tim Carmody provided an insightful and moving address on the ever-emerging landscape for child protection in Queensland. Thank you to Philippa Miller-Ibos and FLPN for a wonderful event. For more information about the Network visit - http://www.qldfamilylawnet.org.au/networks/greater-brisbane

04.01.2022 Late night at the office compiling briefs to Counsel. Even our Business Director, Dennis Trovas, is lending a helping hand with this one!

03.01.2022 A sneak peek at some of the marketing material we've put together for a business networking breakfast that our legal director, Naomi Lewis, is presenting at this Friday. We loved designing these fun postcards to show that, while we as lawyers fit into a rather traditional industry space, we regularly use social media to update our clients and business partners as to what's happening in the land of Lewis & Trovas and how we support Brisbane families, communities and business networks.

02.01.2022 While our CBD office has been up and running for several weeks, it didn't quite seem complete until our signage was installed and our art was hung. Here's a bit of a snap shot of our new and improved space. We think our little reno scrubbed the place up quite well! A big thank you to Sharon Mitchell of Mitchell Fine Art for the beautiful piece hanging in our waiting room - we have clients mesmerised and commenting on it most days!

01.01.2022 Our legal director, Naomi Lewis, just returned from the Federal Circuit Court where she represented one of our clients in the hearing of a "contravention application". What this meant was that one parent was failing to comply with orders previously made by the court for parenting arrangements, without a reasonable excuse, and we acted on our client's behalf to seek that the court take action to remedy the contravention. While it was a long day, a very positive result was achi...eved for our client. If your children are the subject of parenting orders made by the court, and your former partner is simply not complying with those orders, and has no reasonable excuse for doing so, we encourage you to have a conversation with us about how we may be able to assist you to remedy the situation.
