The clients didn't like the roman blinds inherited when purchasing their home, and wanted to soften the space, while gaining privacy from overlooking neighbours. This gorgeous sheer (Pilbara by Maurice Kain Textiles) was the perfect fit. Finished off with black decorative rods and a separate silicone blockout lining behind for night-time privacy and light control. Sheers were also added to the adjoining dining area to flow and soften

My client has options for light control, and can peacefully enjoy her private space, day & night, without the eyes of onlookers. The simple textured pattern in the curtain fabric softens the space, adding warmth and class without restricting bed linen choices. Pops of on trend colours can also be added using throws or cushions, or occasional furniture - far more cost effective than replacing your window furnishings to meet current trends.

17.01.2022 Roller blinds continue to be a big part of my business as they are very minimal, easy to operate, and effective. "Dual Roller Blinds" utilise one screen roller blind, and one full blockout roller blind on the same window. These are great for privacy and light control, and are available in many colours and styles of fabrics to suit your budget. Shown below, this Australian made screen fabric Uniview provides a very clear view to the outside world, even when fully drawn; and the textured blockout fabric LeReve is an affordable alternative to a basic plain fabric - it creates a mini-pelmet by day, and offers full-privacy when drawn at night.

03.01.2022 2018 continues to be the year of the sheer curtain, and it isnt hard to see why. Sheer fabrics are available in a variety of compositions from polyester to cotton to linen and many variations in between. They also offer a variety of colours, textures and styles - offering a myriad of possibilities to enhance your home and offer privacy from onlookers. Where plaster is square set I prefer the look of a seamless ceiling to floor finish with a slimline ceiling fix track, but when cornices have been used, a small decorator rod or pelmet can be used to add the finishing touches.

03.01.2022 Lined drapes and padded pelmet, with a sun screen roller blind for daytime privacy and light control installed recently in Ocean Grove - this combination is one of the best ways to treat a west facing window on the front of your home. The sun screen blind reduces glare and provides up to 98% UV protection whilst allowing a view to the street, and when it heats up, close the lined drapes and pelmets trap the heat form the afternoon sun behind and keep it cooler on the inside. Also, if you have a streetlight out front, or work shift, the drapes and pelmet treatment will make the room dark to ensure a good sleep day or night.

These gorgeous Linen Sheers really help to soften the space, and add a rich and contemporary, yet homely touch, to this fabulous architect designed extension in South Geelong. The clients contacted me some time ago, which enabled discussion with the builder to integrate false pelmets above the window/door, allowing the tracking to be hidden, and create a seamless finish (Fabric: Aesop colour Atlantic by Warwick Fabrics)
