23.01.2022 LLC class of 2019 Graduation Ceremony Its Graduation Day! I’ve learned so much and come a long way. All through Preschool, I’ve learned and had fun. I’m graduating now! The time has come! I’m so much bigger and smarter too! Kindergarten! I’m ready for you! To all the graduates, you're a group of very special kids, and we are so proud to be your teacher. Best wishes for a happy and successful future at big schools!

04.01.2022 Early Childhood Educators Day! Looking after children day in and day out is not an easy job, but our educators have done it with love and care! A big "thank you" to all LLC educators! Not just for one day, but every day!

03.01.2022 School's Tree Day Today is Schools Tree day and we decided to plant some trees in our garden to acknowledge this day! We chose some native ‘Christmas trees’ to plant. Children loved helping the educators rake out the dirt and get rid of all the weeds. When the educator poured the heavy bag of soil on the garden bed, some children then helped to flatten the soil out. The educators also encouraged children to help put the plants inside the holes. This afternoon we watered the trees and next week we will make it part of the routine to go outside and water them encouraging children to understand the impact of humans on the natural environment.

02.01.2022 Social skills program - PALS Today was our first visit from BreakThru for the PALS social skills program. Our visiting educators used a social story and puppets to teach the children about the importance of eye contact, smiling and saying hello to our peers. The story also involved sharing and turn-taking behaviors. PALS is a social skills program designed by clinical psychologists and early childhood teachers to teach children... constructive ways to solve problems in social situations. Children learn social skills and have fun through role-play, puppets, songs and discussions. See more

02.01.2022 World Autism Awareness Day We just want to say to all the parents who have children with Autism and special needs, your child is much more than a diagnosis on a piece of paper. He/she is just different and special, and let's celebrate every little achievement they make! Leylands Learning Centre will always be an inclusive child care centre for special needs children. We believe the best way to help them is to bring them to the mainstream environment, not keeping them away. ... As a parent with an Autistic child, I know what you are going through. And personally, I just wanted to say, don't give up, your child is worth it!

01.01.2022 Yoga Class with Ms. JJ Today we have Ms. JJ paying us a visit from Karma Yoga to teach our children some Yoga moves. Children were able to practice breathing exercises to align the body and mind, stretching legs and arms and toga (using feet to pick up stone or pom-poms and place it on the color bowl) and adding some relaxing music. Yoga helps children physically, improve their flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness. In addition to the Multi-sports program we already have in place, Yoga would be a great addition to support our children's health and physical wellbeing.
