16.01.2022 Hello! Did you know I started my career waaaay back in 2004 (uh, showing my age here ) fresh out of high school with an apprenticeship in graphic pre-press printing? I worked in the media industry as a graphic designer for more than 14 years before I launched Leysa Flores Design. It’s been a juggle as I’ve also had three daughters during that time, as well as completing further studies my youngest is now 16 months old. It’s certainly a challenge juggling motherhood a...nd running my own biz but the pros (hello loungewear!) really do outweigh the cons (Sorry, I can’t talk right now, my toddler just emptied the cat food all over the floor ...). I have had periods of burnout (constant illnesses, apathy and anxiety about my work), but I’ve learned to recognise when I need to take a step back and take care of myself and when I can dig a little deeper and push through the busy seasons. 15.01.2022 Getting some sunshine even in winter is super important to keep your mental health (and Vitamin D levels) in check. Thanks to Kim Vella Coaching latest blog article for the reminder (link in comments, have a read!) Have you been able to get outside today? We’re lucky to live on the outskirts of town in a semi-rural area in a new development. So, bushland is a short walk away. It’s been a busy week wrapping up some branding projects, strategy and mood boards for another,... a newsletter campaign, preparing more estimates, getting my tax sorted and a few other things in between. Also, tech issues have delayed the release of my customised hymn prints So ... sigh. We’re getting there. The border restrictions tighten even more at midnight tonight, so there goes visits to my parents again. But, school is back so that’s good I can’t wait to share with you some more of the new brands we are rolling out, as soon as I mock them up There’s just something so magic about seeing everything come together I hope you are all staying mentally and physically well (and warm!)
