09.01.2022 2021 SENIOR COACH ANNOUNCEMENT | After a thorough process, Lilydale Football Netball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of former Blackburn mentor Brendan Fulton as our Senior Coach for the 2021 season. Fulton served his coaching career in various roles including 2015-2016 Senior Assistant and Reserves Coach at Chelsea Heights under current Somerville Senior Coach Brad Canavan, and 2017-2018 U19’s and Senior assistant coach at Blackburn under Kon Karavias and Brendan... Allen. In his latter time, Fulton was granted part time access to Richmond VFL’s football program via former Blackburn Captain and Richmond VFL director of football Anthony Fagan. In 2019 Fulton moved to Sydney for a business engagement and was involved in the GWS Giants Academy as a part time Development Coach. Upon returning to Melbourne, Fulton was appointed Frankston YCW senior assistant coach before the season was wiped out due to the coronavirus crisis. Fulton, who is a National Marketing Manager for Renault Australia, says he’s looking forward to getting to work as Senior Coach. The number one priority will be the retention and wellbeing of current listed players. The Coronavirus restrictions have affected us all in different ways and I’m prioritising contacting all of the boys to get to know them and understand how they’re coping with the current way of life. It’s a talented list with enormous potential. I understand they played with an average of 27 points in 2019 which demonstrates the Clubs commitment to developing their local talent. Brendan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Lilydale which will continue to grow and develop its program and allow the club to successfully compete at the top level of EFNL football. We welcome Brendan and his family to Lilydale and look forward to a fresh 2021 under his guidance and leadership. The club has now locked in all coaches for season 2021, with both Jesse Rottinger and Steve Potts returning as Reserves and our U19 Coach. More to follow. An exciting period for the club, keep your eyes peeled for player signings to follow over the next few weeks! GO DALES! #Community #Success #Respect
