16.01.2022 GIVE YOUR KIDS FREEDOM WITH CONTACT LENSES Contact lenses for kids and teenagers offer them the freedom to participate in recreational activities without the hassle of glasses and can do wonders for a child’s self-esteem. While the eyes can tolerate contact lenses at a very young age, the real question a parent needs to ask is whether their child is mature enough to take on the responsibility of wearing and caring for contact lenses. The decision is ultimately a joint one bet...ween the parent, child and your optometrist. Provided that the child is taught the correct way to insert, remove and care for their contact lenses they are unlikely to experience problems or complications. BENEFITS OF CONTACT LENSES FOR KIDS AND TEENAGERS Taking part in sports and other recreational activities without the worry and inconvenience of glasses Contacts are less vulnerable to being lost or broken They don’t interfere with the peripheral or side vision of the wearer Ideal for children who don’t want to stand out from the crowd because of their eyewear TEENAGERS AND SELF-IMAGE As kids turn into teens, they tend to become a lot more conscious of their self-image and what their peers think. For some, wearing glasses can feel awkward particularly if they don’t feel like they fit their image or if they play a lot of sport. Today’s contact lens technologies open up a world of possibilities and we’re no longer tied down to glasses as the only vision correction option. Provided the child is deemed ready for the responsibility it can be a great solution for the self-conscious teen. Interested in finding out more? Chat with us! 15.01.2022 CATH KUBALE - Optometrist BOptom, PGradCert (OcTher) "I chose to become an optometrist because of my desire to work with people and my love and appreciation for the health services industry. I’ve been a practicing optometrist for just over 20 years and I’ve been especially lucky to have a fabulous employer that allows me to balance my career and my family time. ... In my spare time, my family and house renovations keep me busy; but we also love to travel as often as we can. I’ve recently joined the sourdough trend and am enjoying participating in a local sourdough course!" #lfeyecare #ourteam #warragul #drouin #moe #gippsland

14.01.2022 PRUE HUNT, Optical Assistant - Moe Prue has been with L&F Eyecare for nearly 12 years and we love her bright, bubbly personality! Prior to working with L&F I was in pharmacy, which I think gave me a great base for stepping into the role here. I enjoy coming to work every single day and working with the crew here! They are such a great group of girls. I think we’ve all been here so long for similar reasons - the atmosphere, our work environment, ongoing training and just how... nice they are to work for! I’ve always lived in Newborough, family is everything to me! Outside of work I enjoy catching up with friends, hanging with my cavoodle Molly, the gym and walking. We have so much on our doorstep here, my favourite place is the Uralla Nature Reserve in Trafalgar South, it’s such a peaceful spot. Prue’s Frames: Fysh (new season)
