13.01.2022 Stella is delighted to announce the 2020 shortlist. This year’s six exemplary shortlisted books by Australian women are: See What You Made Me Do by Jess Hill (B...lack Inc.) Diving Into Glass by Caro Llewellyn (Penguin Random House) There Was Still Love by Favel Parrett (Hachette Australia Books) Here Until August by Josephine Rowe (Black Inc.) The Yield by Tara June Winch (Penguin Random House) The Weekend by Charlotte Wood (Allen & Unwin Books) Louise Swinn, Chair of the Judging panel, says: The six books on this year’s shortlist are all outward-looking, and they tell stories of illness, family life, friendship, domestic abuse, and more in remarkable ways. If language is a tool, or a weapon, then these writers use their skills with tremendous courage. We found a lot to be hopeful about here, too not just at the stories being told, but at the quality of the art being produced. Judges’ Report 2020 The 2020 Stella Prize shortlist of six books was selected from a longlist of twelve and a slew of original entries brimming with talent and originality. Stella acknowledges and thanks every author and publisher who submitted work for the #2020StellaPrize

06.01.2022 We're still open for now but please take appropriate hygiene measures before and after using the library. There's no need to leave books but if you do please leave them in the crate. We will delay adding them to the library for at least a few days to help reduce the risk.
