25.01.2022 This incredible grazing table was just some of the food and beverages that greeted our couples as they entered Alto, the rooftop space @langhammelbourne where we held Showcase. Incredible!

21.01.2022 Lots of couples get so caught up in the busyness of planning their wedding that they don’t have time to think about the legal implications of what they’re getting into: the institution of marriage. I’m grateful to my friend, John Spender, a family lawyer, for giving his advice about 10 legal facts that couples should consider before they get married. Link to blog in comments

11.01.2022 Check out for yourself what Showcase on 19 February looked like. An LGBTIQ+ wedding expo for LGBTIQ+ couples run by people from the LGBTIQ+ community, as it should be. Watch out for the next one in April!

10.01.2022 Been planning your wedding and it’s all turned upside down? Feeling like COVID has ruined what was going to be the best day of your lives? At the best of times, planning a wedding is a massive task. It's almost like taking on a full-time job! ... Throw in COVID and no hint of when restrictions might be eased to a position where we can resume planning weddings, and we begin to feel frustrated, down, isolated and alone. Maybe you're thinking of changing your original wedding plans, and not waiting to get married. What are the options? Or maybe you're thinking of waiting until the international borders open again, so you can have the wedding you've always dreamed of. What can you do now to restart your planning? This Virtual Wedding Expo isn't your usual wedding expo! It isn't a sales pitch or an event where you'll be pressured into 'signing up' with any wedding vendor. Don't forget, each of our 10 LGBTIQ+ friendly Wedding Vendors own businesses that have been greatly affected by COVID. Each of them feels deeply for you, our couples. Come along, and use this opportunity to ask any of the vendors as many questions as you like, with no strings attached. Ask them what you can do in these COVID times and still have a fabulous wedding. Or ask them what you can do now to get back into planning your wedding that will take place when we enter 'COVID-normal' times (whenever that is). Want to vent about how hard it is and what an awful time it's been? Go right ahead! It's free! You can attend from the comfort of your home computer and you can stay for as long (or as briefly) as you like. And there's no expectation that you'll see all the vendors - you simply choose to chat with whichever vendors you need to. The session would last 75 minutes starting from 5:15PM. Special note of thanks to all wedding vendors who are a part of this event - What Froggy Bakes, Yum Catering, Umbrella Family Law, KA Hair and Makeup, Holdsworth Bros. Jewellers, Celebrate Love Together with Annette James, Lavish Photo Booths, Houng Taing Photography, Hotel Windsor, Melbourne Check out the event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1299541203724149 Grab your free tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/.../virtual-showcase-lgbtiq... #lgbt #transgender #lgbtq #community #pride #loveislove #wedding #marriage #melbourne #weddingexpo #online
