23.01.2022 Another Guest Lecture at The University of Newcastle, Australia today, this time sharing some thoughts with third year Communications Students. Today's session was all about pitching your idea. The key take-outs were the same for any piece of communication: 1) Make it authentic - That starts with having a genuine reason to communicate. 2) Make it valuable - If it doesn't add value - leave it out. 3) Craft it into a story - not just a message. Creates stronger recall... 4) It's not just about the idea - it's about the potential that idea has to create a wholly new understanding for the customer. A learning or way of thinking about something they didn't previously conceive. 5) Make it personal. We spent a rainy morning on site with the Catholic Diocese of Maitland - Newcastle and managed to get the Bishop on a bulldozer for the occaision. Construction has now officially begun at the school, which is located in beautiful Waterford County, Chisholm.
