20.01.2022 When working with suspended loads they are inevitably subjected to dynamic and wind forces which may cause them to swing or rotate during the lifting operation. It is important that during any lifting operation that persons conducting the lift are in control of the load at all times ensuring that it does not make unintended and uncontrolled movements which could pose a risk to themselves, other personnel, the load itself or the sounding work structures. What is a Tagline? A t...agline is generally a length of rope or webbing with or without a connector and or handle which is attached to a load during a lifting operation to allow a rigger / operator to control swinging and or rotation of a suspended load. In permitted confined spaces greater than 5 feet deep, a means of retrieval is required, and all entrants must use a full body harness. Fall protection is required in general industry when an employee is exposed to a fall hazard of 4 feet or greater. In construction, fall protection is required at 6 feet or greater.
